"Watch your mouth," Nick said to McKenzie calmly. "You don't have to react that way."
"Oh yes I do," McKenzie said firmly. She marched up to Nick and looked him straight in the eyes. "I absolutely forbid you to do this," she said. Everybody cringed. This wasn't going to be good.
"You forbid me? You can't forbid me to do anything," Nick chuckled at her acting all cocky. "Maybe we should discuss this tomorrow when we haven't been drinking. I shouldn't have brought it up right now."
"Maybe we just won't discuss it all," McKenzie yelled. "Because if you do this, we're through Nickolas Gene Carter!" Nick, along with everyone else knew it wasn't a good sign when someone yelled at you using your full name.
"Kenzie come on, don't you realize what we're trying to do? This is for you," Nick said trying to get her approval.
"I said no Nick and I meant it. You will not do this," McKenzie said. She was very angry and her voice grew louder and louder. Everyone was watching them like they were watching a tennis match. Their heads turning side to side back and forth between Nick and McKenzie.
"God McKenzie, stop being such a bi...." Nick stopped himself but it was too late. Everyone knew he was just about to call McKenzie a bitch.
"What were you going to say?" she asked gritting her teeth. Nick never thought he'd ever see her so angry. Her face was red and she was pissed. He was surprised he didn't see steam coming out of her ears.
"Ok," said AJ looking at Kimmy. "I think we're gonna go."
"No AJ, don't worry about it. Nick and I have nothing left to talk about." McKenzie said and stormed out of the room. Before she got to the doorway she turned around mad as hell and glared at Nick. "We're through Carter." She ran up the stairs and slammed her bedroom door.
"I think maybe we should let you all figure this out. It's late anyways," Kevin said seeing the look Shayla was giving Brian and it looked like she was ready to go off on Nick herself. Poor Jen and Kimmy didn't know what was going on.
"I'll call you tomorrow Shayla," Jen said as she and Kevin got their things.
"See you guys later," Brian said as Kevin, Jen, AJ and Kimmy left.
Brian closed the door behind them and found Shayla in the kitchen cleaning up. He opened his mouth to talk but she shot him a look, so he walked out and into the other room where Nick was putting away the pool table supplies and picking up beer bottles.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Brian asked Nick raising his voice.
"Shut up," Nick said. "So I didn't pick the right time to bring it up."
"I told you this was a bad idea to begin with but you should never have brought it up when everyone was drinking and when everyone was around," Brian said lecturing him.
"Geez ya think?" Nick asked snottily.
"Why couldn't you just wait until tomorrow when we could talk to them alone and in a rational manner? Now I'm gonna get my shit jumped and get yelled at too," Brian said and stormed off.
"Well I didn't know she was gonna get so pissed off," Nick called after him. Brian just put up his hand and kept walking. He met Shayla at the bottom of the stairs as she was about to go up. He motioned for her to go ahead of him.
"After you," he said in a tone that said he knew he was in for it.
*Kevin and Jen*
"Sorry about all that," Kevin said as he pulled out of Shayla's driveway and they started for Jen's house.
"It's ok. What was that all about anyway? Who is this Mandy person?" Jen asked, feeling chills as Kevin put his hand on her leg as he drove.
"Well it's kind of a long story," Kevin said taking his hand off Jen's leg to shift gears as they got on the expressway. "See Mandy is Nick's ex-girlfriend and she's kinda known for causing trouble. Haven't you read about what happened in the papers? Didn't Shayla tell you what's been going on?" he asked taking her hand in his locking their fingers together. Jen thought he was being very sweet.
"No, I haven't heard about it I guess," she told him.
"Well to make a long story short, things have been really good since Nick started seeing McKenzie. She's great. She treats him great, his friends, his family, the fans. She's nothing like Mandy. Mandy was bad news," Kevin said. Jen nodded that she was following along. Kevin gave her hand a little squeeze and he smiled. "Well, last weekend when we were all at that club, you know, where we met?" he said as they looked at each other and smiled. "Well Mandy was there with Nick's best friend Brent, and they were like all over each other kissing when we walked in."
"If Brent is Nick's best friend, why was he with Mandy?" Jen asked.
"Moment of weakness and being drunk is my understanding of it, cuz they hated each other. Anyway she started a problem with McKenzie and Shayla and they ended up having words and Shayla threw a drink on her. So, when Mandy and Brent left the bar they had an accident and Mandy was driving and said it was because she was so upset over the fight," Kevin explained.
"Oh my god. You're kidding?" Jen said.
"Nope. And they were hurt pretty bad and Mandy is a singer and she had to cancel her summer tour and now she's suing McKenzie and Shayla saying it's their fault she had the wreck. It's all a bunch of bullshit, but she's getting away with it."
"So, now Nick thinks she did it on purpose and that's what this plan of his was all about?" Jen questioned.
"Exactly," Kevin said as they pulled up to Jen's apartment and he parked the car.
"Well, I have to say, it doesn't sound like a good idea to me either," Jen said.
"No it doesn't but I guess I can kinda see his point. I think maybe they should find another way, because it's going to cause problems between Nick and McKenzie if Nick has to act that way around Mandy," Kevin said.
"I know it would if it was me," Jen said feeling sympathetic towards McKenzie.
"Come on, I'll walk you up," Kevin said patting her leg. He came around and opened her door for her and helped her out and grabbed her bag for her. They walked up the steps to the second floor to Jen's apartment.
He took the keys from Jen and unlocked her door for her. "I had a really good time tonight, despite the way we had to leave," he chuckled. "Can we do it again soon?"
"Yes, I'd love to. I had a good time too," Jen said.
Kevin put his arms around her and hugged her. She felt good in his arms and he missed having someone to hold like that. He bent his head down and kissed her lightly on the lips. Jen put her arms around his neck and kissed him back. The kiss became more passionate as he slipped his tongue in and pulled her closer to him oblivious to the fact they were standing in the hallway. Jen was completely in another world. He was a great kisser and his strong arms felt so good wrapped around her. She was absolutely melting. He pulled away and smiled at her.
"Now I definitely had a good time," Jen said as she laughed a little.
Kevin laughed too. "I'll call you tomorrow," Kevin said. He gave her another quick kiss and left. Jen went inside and leaned against the door. She couldn't believe she'd just been kissed like that by Kevin Richardson. She could definitely fall hard for him. She knew she already was.
*AJ and Kimmy*
"Wow, what was that all about?" Kimmy asked AJ as they drove back to her place.
"Mandy is Nick's ex-girlfriend and it sounds like they're trying to trick her into confessing she had this wreck on purpose to get back at McKenzie for a fight they had. She's suing Shayla and McKenzie over it saying they upset her so bad she had a wreck. It's really a long story, but a bunch of bullshit," AJ said placing his arm around Kimmy. Kimmy got the picture over the last few days that all the guys were very protective of all the girlfriends of the other guys. AJ especially when it came to Shayla. She found that to be one of his endearing qualities.
"Oh well, it sounds like a pretty big drama," Kimmy said putting her hand on AJ's leg. AJ grinned at her. That was a good sign and he was kinda hoping he'd get to sleep with Kimmy tonight. Although sleep wasn't what was on his mind.
"Everything with Mandy is a big drama," AJ said pulling up to Kimmy's. She didn't live far from Shayla and Brian.
"Ya wanna come up for a while?" Kimmy asked with a grin on her face. AJ didn't realize he'd met his match. She was thinking the same thing he was.
"Sure," he said. He turned off the car and opened her door for her. He was at least a gentleman even when he only had one thing on his mind.
Kimmy opened the door to her house and AJ held it open as she walked in and turned on one of the lights. AJ closed the door and locked it. Kimmy put her things on a table in the hallway and walked to the kitchen motioning for AJ to follow her, which he did. Kimmy turned on one of lower dimmed lights and opened the refrigerator.
"You want something to drink?" she asked looking in the refrigerator. AJ was staring her up and down. He was totally attracted to her.
AJ came over and closed the refrigerator door. Kimmy stood up looking at him. "Uh-uh," he said with a sly grin.
"Ok, something to eat?" she asked.
AJ pushed her against the refrigerator pressing himself against her and let out a little laugh thinking about what she'd said with that dirty mind of his. "Not from in there," he said.
"AJ," Kimmy said playfully pushing him. He just decided to go straight for it and grabbed her face in his hands and started kissing her.
Soon their hands were wildly roving over each others bodies as they continued to kiss very sloppily. "I love your body," AJ said as he kissed down her neck his hands all over her. He started unbuttoning her sweater.
"Oh AJ, god I want you," she said undoing his belt and jeans.
"I want you to," AJ said taking off her sweater and his shirt.
Kimmy had already seen his 69 tattoo when they were in the pool but this time she looked at it, tracing it with her finger. "So why do you have the number 69 tattooed on your belly button?" she asked already guessing why.
"Cuz it's my favorite number. Here let me show you why," he said.
Pretty soon they'd practically torn each others clothes off and were on the kitchen floor going at it. They eventually found their way to Kimmy's bedroom where they finished each other off.
Kimmy woke up the next morning and AJ was already gone but he'd left a note on her pillow:
"Hey baby, I had a great time last night. I had to get over to Brian and Shayla's early to make sure everyone's ok. I'll call you later today and we can do something later.
Yours, AJ and there was a little smiley face by his name.
*Meanwhile Back At Shayla's That Night*
Shayla walked up the stairs giving Brian a nasty glare. He knew this was the first time she'd been angry with him and he knew he had it coming. They went into the bedroom and closed the door. Brian sat on the bed as Shayla was changing into her pajamas. She went to walk past him on her way to her side of the bed when he reached out and grabbed her by the waist stopping her.
"Please listen to what I have to say about this baby," he said.
"Bri I'd rather not get into this tonight. It's late, we've been drinking, I think we should wait until morning to discuss it," Shayla said.
"I don't want us to go to bed mad at each other. This is Nick and Brent. Yes, I knew about it but I can't do anything to stop them. I told them it was a bad idea but they're going to do it whether any of us like it or not," Brian said, resting his forehead against her stomach.
"Well, so much for not talking about it tonight," Shayla said sighing. She pulled away and climbed into bed. "Come here," she said pulling back the covers for him. Brian stripped down to his boxers and climbed into bed next to her putting his arm around her.
"I think it's a bad idea but they do have a point and if it works then we can get out of this lawsuit and it it's true, that she did do this on purpose, we need to know. Because she's got a serious problem and you and McKenzie could be in real danger from her if she's willing to go that far," Brian said trying to explain.
Shayla rolled over and climbed on top of Brian straddling him. "I don't like it and I'm going to have to take McKenzie's side on this. I don't like the fight they had and that he almost called her a bitch," she said as she rolled her hips so she was rubbing against him.
Brian looked at her strangely. She had this devilish look in her eyes. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"Well obviously you're going to continue talking about this even though I said I didn't want to," she said then leaned over and kissed him. "You said you didn't want to go to bed angry with each other," she traced his chest with her finger. "So if we're going to talk about it now, while I have a buzz that's made you incredibly irresistable to me by the way, then we're going to do it my way," she said running her fingers back and forth under the waistband of his boxers.
"I see," he said. "Ok, I can deal with that," he said as he unbuttoned her pajama top and slid it off her shoulders. He began massaging her chest as she continued to grind herself against him. "I don't think Nick should've called her a name either but I don't think she should have yelled and cussed at him either, and certainly shouldn't have forbid him to do something," Brian said pulling Shayla down onto him, kissing her chest.
"No, she shouldn't have," Shayla said and let out a soft moan when Brian began squeezing her chest and running his tongue over her. "But I don't think this is a very good plan and he shouldn't be doing it. He may lose her over this," Shayla said as she pushed Brian's boxers down.
She had Brian's boxers halfway down when he grabbed her by the wrists. He flipped her over and pinned her down with her wrists above her head, wriggling the rest of the way out of his boxers. Shayla gave him a sexy grin. He held both of her hands behind her head by one hand and with the other pulled down her panties and laid on top of her, regrabbing her wrists with both of his hands again. As he entered her he put his mouth by her ear and whispered, "just as long as I don't lose you over this." He started kissing down her neck and she moaned as he went deeper as he pushed again taking it painfully slowly. Shayla tried to increase the pace but he wouldn't let her yet.
"You won't lose me," Shayla whispered trying to free her wrists. Brian let one of them go, the other he reached into her hand locking their fingers together so they were holding hands. He smiled at her as she gently ran her fingernails down his back. "So, what side do you take?" she asked.
"Why do I have to take sides?" Brian asked kissing her neck and chest.
Shayla ran her hand through his hair bringing her fingers to his mouth and he gently sucked on two of her fingers. "You must have an opinion?" she said softly.
"I think they should work it out. It's his idea," he said beginning to quicken his pace as Shayla moved her hips against him.
"What's your role in this plan?" Shayla asked as she sucked on his neck.
"Can we finish this discussion later?" he asked stopping and smiling at her, wanting to concentrate on other things.
Shayla moved rolling him over so she was on top of him again. "We can either finish the discussion later or we can finish this later," she said pushing with her hips pushing him deeper. "It's your choice. But you're the one who wanted to talk about it remember," she asked grinding against him.
Brian groaned as she moved on him. "Ok you win then. What do you want me to do?"
Shayla grinned from ear to ear devilishly. "I mean about the plan. I know what you want me to do about this," he said giving her one of his famous smiles and pulling her down to kiss him.
"I can't tell you what to do. I just want to know how you figure into this plan," she told him.
Brian pushed her so she sat straight up and pushed down on her hips causing them both to moan out loud. "I told them I didn't know if it was a good idea to do this, but that if it would help you and McKenzie out of this mess then I'd go along with it. At least until the end of the summer. But......." he had to stop talking for a minute to concentrate on what Shayla was doing. He knew he was about to come. He flipped her back over so he was on top again and began thrusting into her faster as she kissed and nibbled his neck and chest. "But I told them if it got out of hand, they had to stop." As he said that he stopped and looked into her eyes. "I can't keep him from doing it Shayla. And he does have a point. It just might work."
"That doesn't mean I have to approve and I think we should try and convince him to find another way. I don't want McKenzie hurt." Shayla said as she placed her hands on Brian's ass pushing him so he started moving again. "I know I would be furious if you did something like this with Leighanne."
"We can try but that's why he's doing it is so McKenzie doesn't get hurt anymore," Brian said.
"But he's hurting her by doing it. And what if he ends up falling for Mandy again?" Shayla asked arching her back as he lifted her hips and licked up her stomach.
"I don't think that's going to happen." Brian was moving at a much faster pace now knowing they were nearing the end of the discussion.
"Ok, I'll talk to him. But I can't change his mind for him. You have to understand that, and if he goes through with it, I'll have to support him but I also support you and McKenzie. I won't take sides," he said.
"Ok, we'll deal with it. Just be honest with me and tell me everything that's going on. I don't want you hiding anything from me," Shayla said and moaned and grabbed onto him as he brought her to her climax.
Brian smiled at her and sucked on her shoulder, almost biting her as he groaned as he came. "Deal," he said collapsing on top of her.
They layed together quietly as Shayla caressed his back and he kissed on her neck until he rolled off of her.
"Sing to me," Shayla whispered in his ear. Brian saw her smile as she turned around and held her from behind and she held his arms tight around her.
He started to softly sing in her ear their song, and before they fell asleep peacefully in each others arms, Brian whispered in her ear, "I'm totally amazed by you."
