*One Week Later*
Shayla waited impatiently with Kimmy, Jen and AJ's mom at the airport for the guys to get there. The fans had found out they were coming home today and had gathered in full force so the plane was secretly re-routed to another gate for their departure. So far no one had figured it out.
Finally they saw the plane slowly taxiing towards the gate. Shayla could see Brian's face pressed up against the window making faces at her. She waved back laughing. As the guys came out of the walkway from the plane she ran leaping into Brian's open arms as he spun her round and round kissing her.
Jen met Kevin with huge hug and kiss as did Kimmy and AJ. AJ finally let go of Kimmy long enough to give his mom a hug.
"Oh I've missed you so much," Shayla said planting kisses all over Brian's face and treasuring the scent of him and feel of his arms around her.
Brian laughed. "I missed you to baby," he said kissing her again. "I can't wait to get you home and into bed," he said when he finally stopped kissing her.
"Ahem, are you two ready to go?" Denise asked breaking Brian and Shayla apart.
"Oh yeah! We can't wait to get out of here. We're gonna go home and play a little one on one," Brian said grinning mischievously. Shayla giggled and shoved him.
"Brian! For goodness sakes!" Denise scolded him.
"What? I was talking about playin basketball," Brian laughed innocently.
"Uh huh, sure," Denise said giving him a look as Brian laughed madly and swooped Shayla over his shoulder and ran through the airport with her laughing and screaming.
"Yo! Knock it off. You're gonna draw attention to us you two," Kevin's voice bellowed through the terminal yelling at Brian.
"Oh and you yelling at them in the middle of the terminal isn't going to draw attention?" AJ asked sarcastically as everyone laughed.
They had to wait a little longer for their luggage because it had to be sent to a another place since they got off the plane at a different gate to avoid all the fans. Kevin pulled Shayla over to the side while they were waiting.
"How are the plans coming along for Jen's birthday party?" he asked. "Do you need me to do anything?"
"No, it's all planned. I already bought everything and did everything you asked me to. All ya need to do is get her there," Shayla told him.
"Great thanks. Did you get the gift I asked you to pick up?" he asked as Shayla nodded she had. "Ok just keep track of the cost and let me know what I owe ya and let me know if ya need me to do anything ok," Kevin said.
"Ok, don't worry though, it's all pretty much set," Shayla told him.
"You're great, I owe ya one," Kevin said kissing her cheek and going back to claim his luggage.
"Brian knock it off," Kevin scolded his cousin who was riding around on the luggage carousel with his head poking out between 2 suitcases. Everyone was laughing at him.
"Baby come on you're gonna give yourself away and we're gonna get mobbed," Shayla said still laughing at him because it was really quite funny.
"Look at Nick. You can tell he wishes he were doing that with Brian," Kimmy whispered to Shayla. Shayla looked over at Nick and he looked away from her. She hadn't even said anything or looked at him since they got off the plane. He looked awful and and so sad.
Shayla recognized one of Nick's bags come around on the carousel and grabbed it off and he walked over to get it. "Hi Nick," Shayla said forcing a smile. In a way she was getting over being so mad at him and felt as bad for him as she did her sister because he'd called so many times and McKenzie wouldn't talk to him. She didn't know he'd been calling Mandy. No one did. He and Brian were back on speaking terms but things still weren't the way they should be.
"Hey Shayla," he said taking the bag from her. "Thanks," he said to her for getting his bag.
"Sure," Shayla said. Brian came running back to her with all his stuff and acting goofy and all hyped up as usual. It was clearly obvious Nick missed being goofy with his best friend.
"Let's go babay," he squealed in his best Austin Powers voice throwing an arm around her.
"Nick do you need a ride to your moms?" Shayla asked. She was trying to make an effort for Brian's sake and Nick was now staying at his mom's since he and McKenzie broke up.
"Well I was gonna get a ride from AJ, but it you're sure you don't mind....."
"No, it's fine. We'll drop you off," Brian said. Nick looked at Shayla for her approval and took her small smile as it was ok.
"Alright then," Nick said falling in step with them.
As they reached the outside they were met with ear piercing screams. Some fans decided to stake out the outside of several terminals to try and see the guys. Luckily security had set up barricades expecting the problem, which is what probably gave it away that they were at that terminal. They had rented drivers and cars so they could be waiting at the door for them and they didn't have to walk to their cars. The girls all quickly hopped in the cars and the guys took a few minutes to shake some hands and sign autographs. With the new album coming out it was time to get back into the habit of greeting the fans. About half an hour later they finally were able to get going. Shayla cracked up as Brian and Nick got as far up in the back window as they could pressing their faces against the window waving and making faces as several girls ran chasing the cars.
After dropping Nick off, Shayla and Brian finally got home. They unloaded the car and brought all of Brian's things inside. McKenzie was running around crazy looking for her keys.
"Hey Brian!" McKenzie exclaimed running to give him a hug.
"Hey Kenz, how ya doin sweetheart?" Brian asked. He bent down and picked up the dogs who came barking to him jumping all over him.
"I'm doing great. Shayla have you seen my keys? I'm running late," McKenzie said.
"No, sorry I sure haven't," Shayla said.
"Hello, my little babies. Daddy's finally home," Brian said to the dogs playing with them. "You look nice," he said to McKenzie. "Where ya off to?"
"Thanks, I'm just going out for a while. I'm gonna meet some friends at Howie's club," McKenzie said.
"You're going out again?" Shayla asked in an over protective concerned sisterly tone.
"Yes mom, I'm going out," McKenzie said back. "Besides I figured you guys would wanna be alone tonight since it's Brian's first night back. So don't wait up cuz I'll be late," she said finding her keys and running out the door.
Brian looked at Shayla with a raised eyebrow. "I know," said Shayla. "She's out all the time anymore. It's not like I can do a whole lot about it though."
"I just hope she doesn't start getting into trouble," Brian said. "But it was nice of her to leave us alone tonight," he said pulling Shayla to him and kissing her passionately.
"I don't think that's the real reason. She knows we could go to your house if we wanted to be alone. She doesn't wanna be around because she knows now that Nick's home and he can call more or just come over," Shayla said pulling away from his kiss.
"You probably have a point there," Brian agreed.
"Are you hungry? Do you want me to fix you something to eat?" Shayla asked him.
"Oh I'm hungry alright, but not for food," Brian said with a devilish look in his eye and swooping her up in his arms.
"Oooh baby," Shayla laughed. "But wait, I wanna hear the new songs. Let's listen to what you've got on the cd so far."
Brian looked at her like she was crazy. "Now?! You wanna listen to the cd now?! It's not even done yet, it's only still in the demo stage," Brian barked in disbelief.
"Yeah, but I've been dying to hear it," Shayla said pretending to pout.
"Well I've been dying for something else," he smiled at her. He finally gave in with her pouting and rolled his eyes. "Ok, I have an idea," he said putting her down.
"What's your idea?"
Brian leaned close to her ear and whispered, "you run upstairs and slip into one of those sexy little numbers of yours and I'll dig through my suitcase to find the damn cd and then we'll listen to it while you welcome me home and make it up to me for leaving me all alone in Sweden," he said with a gleam in his eye and a sexy smile.
"You're on baby. But hurry up. It won't take me long cuz I don't have to change. I already have something on under my clothes," she said with a wicked smile and lifting her shirt over her head to reveal the top half of a black lace teddy.
Brian who had been kneeling in front of his suitcase turned his head to look at her and a huge grin spread across his face. He shook his head making a "Brrrrr" sound and began throwing things out of this suitcase and tearing through it like a mad man, stuff flying everywhere as he tried to find the cd.
Shayla had gone upstairs and removed her pants and laid on the bed and heard him exclaim, "Aha," when he found the cd and then heard him come bounding up the steps and into the room already out of breath and kicking off his shoes and untucking his shirt.
"Found it," he said holding up the shiny case and trying to catch his breath. He then noticed the sight before him of Shayla propped against the pillows on the bed in her black lace teddy, with that smile on her face and her hair all spread out behind her.
"Oh dear god, I've missed you," he said coming towards the bed.
"I can see that," Shayla giggled staring at the bulge in his pants. She could tell he was already hard as could be.
Brian leaned over her to the stereo that sat on the back of the bed behind her and put in the cd. He pushed play and leaned down and kissed her while trying to remove his shirt as she undid his belt and began undoing his jeans. When his clothes were finally gone he layed on top of her staring into her eyes and running his fingers through her soft hair.
"I've missed you so much," Brian said.
"Show me how much," she whispered as she kissed his neck and down his chest.
"I can't wait to," Brian said pulling down the straps of her teddy and sucking on her shoulders working his way down and finally making love to her while the music played softly in the background, but she barely listened to it.
*At Howie's Club*
McKenzie was sitting at a table with some of her friends and getting pretty drunk because she was desperately trying to forget the fact that Nick was home now.
"Hi ladies," Howie said coming over to their table after spotting McKenzie. He was pretty tired from the flight but decided to put in an appearance at his club tonight anyway.
"Hey Howie! Welcome home," said McKenzie slurring her words a little. Howie could tell she was getting drunk and knew why. McKenzie introduced him to all her friends which he noticed seemed like a bunch of real partiers and probably bad influences.
"Can I borrow you for a dance?" Howie asked her.
"Sure, I'd love to," McKenzie said.
"You doing ok? You seem to be kinda gone?" Howie asked as he put his arms around her and they danced.
"I'm fine," McKenzie said.
"So, Donny tells me you've coming here a lot lately," Howie said. Donny was one of his managers that handled things when he was gone.
"Yeah, you have a great place here. We really like it. Shayla and I came a few times while ya'll were gone," McKenzie told him.
"Thanks, glad you're having a good time. You come anytime you want ok," Howie said extending the invitation.
McKenzie was getting ready to say ok and thank him when Howie saw the smile fade from her face and she went kinda pale. Howie turned to see what made her react that way and saw Brent, Mandy and Nick coming into the club and stopping nearby to talk to some people. Nick had seen McKenzie and was standing there staring at her. Brent and Mandy began to continue walking but Nick was still standing there. McKenzie saw Mandy come back and link her arm through Nick's and tell him to come on. Nick turned and went with her to their table while Mandy looked back and smiled at McKenzie. Once they were sitting down Nick kept looking at McKenzie longingly but Mandy kept diverting his attention. McKenzie told Howie she had to go and took off running out of the club.
