A Little about Ryan
Ryan Stiles. You can't say the name without immediately wanting to sing a hoedown, or thinking of those hilarious expressions, that over sized Adam's apple, those stylish size 15 shoes, and oh yes, that 6'6" height. Ryan has entertained us viewers for years and years, and although we have all aged a little, his humor never has. The quick witted Mr. Stiles always has something to say, and knows just when and how to say it. Ryan has changed the look of improv for many generations to come.
Ryan Stiles was born in Seattle, Washington on April 22, 1959 to Sonny and Irene Stiles. He was the youngest of 5 children. Not yet knowing what he wanted to do in life, he continued high school at Richmond Secondary until a few months shy of graduating his senior year. It was then that he decided he wanted to pursue the career of comedy full-time. Despite his parents objections, he quit school to do stand-up in various night clubs. Working in a club one night, Ryan met his future wife, Pat McDonald.
Ryan and Pat moved in together in '79 and didn't marry until '89. Since then, they have had 2 children, McKenzie, born in '92, and Sam, born in '94. Along with playing the role of Lewis Kiniski in The Drew Carey Show, and doing Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Ryan also splits his time between his two homes, one in Washington, and the other in Sherman Oaks, CA. His Sherman Oaks home, once owned by Liberace, comes complete with a piano shaped swimming pool!
(This is an old picture of Ryan's Liberace home before he owned it. I'm sure it doesn't look quite the same, so don't go looking for it!!)
