In the bottom of this rocks glass I find my favorite friend,
He is staring back at me, as I am staring in.
As I smile he smiles, happy to be here,
What life I lead he will lead always ending here.

In the bottom of this rocks glass I find my favorite friend,
I know he will always be here until the very end.
The bar keep pours another drink, and once again I lose him,
But just as he has always been, I'll find him soon again.

In the bottom of this rocks glass I find my favorite friend,
As I swallow my last sip I see my friend again.
He looks so battered beaten worn,
He has gotten thin.

In the bottom of this rocks glass I find my favorite friend,
The bar keep says I've had enough, so my time here is dun.
Until tomorrow then my friend, and put down the glass,
Wandering out the bar alone as always in the past.

In the bottom of that rocks glass I found my only friend,
Too sober to be drunk, too lonely to be sober.
Just one more drink I ask the bar as I stagger back inside,
No my friend just walk on home he replies again.

In the bottom of that rocks glass I left my only friend,
Not to be seen or heard until I drink again.
So 'til tomorrow I bid adieu,
Then pop the top pour the whiskey and look down to find you.
