In 1853 Perry's Fleet arrived in Tokyo Bay, causing great turmoil and eventually provoking one of Japans most brutal civil wars. The war was known as the Bakumatsu, a war between the Bakufu (Shogun's Government) who wanted to close Japans borders to the world and the Ishin Shishi, which wanted the country to upen up the borders. During this time Japans greatest fighters were also one of their worst killers. Among these was a young man who went by the name Hitokiri Battousai who fought for the Ishin Shishi. He was said to have single handly brought the Bukufu to its knees giving victory to the Ishin Shishi. But on the day of victory, the Hitokiri Battousai disappears never to be seen again...
