Praxis-Klinzhai Va, Class D Praxis was the Klingon's key energy production center until 2293. That year, a combination of mishaps occured, causing an explosion that disintegrated most of the moon - the disaster was later attributed to poor mining practices. The result of that explosion polluted the ozone layer of Qo'noS, leaving it with approximately 50 Earth standard years of life left. With the Klingon empire's economy and infrastructure in shambles, peace negotiations were established with the Federation that same year. This tenuous peace anticipated the later alliance between the Federation and Klingon empire. |
Boreth-Boreth VII, Beta Quadrant, Class P Boreth is a planet in the Klingon Empire, and the location of the important Boreth monastery. According to the Story of the Promise, Kahless would one day return to lead the Klingon people on that "point of light". The planet later became a popular destination for devout Klingons seeking to discover the spirit of Kahless. To the Klingons, it is the most sacred location in the Empire. It was there that Kahless apparently returned from Sto-Vo-Kor, although it was later revealed that he was a clone. |
Khitomer-Khitomer III, Beta Quadrant, Class M
Khitomer is a Class M planet in the Klingon Empire, located in the Beta Quadrant near the borders to the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire. In 2293 the Khitomer conference was held at Camp Khitomer on this planet. The conference stated the first full peace negotiations between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire and gave birth to the Khitomer accords. Originally, Earth had been selected as a venue, but after Klingon chancellor Gorkon was assassinated on his way to Earth, the conference had to be relocated to Camp Khitomer. In 2346, on stardate 23859.7, the Klingon colony on Khitomer fell victim to a Romulan attack that became known as the Khitomer Massacre. 4,000 colonists were killed, amongst them Mogh and Ja'rod. By the 2370s, a colony or outpost had been re-established on the planet. Admiral William Ross met Chancellor Gowron there, sometime prior to 2375. |
Qu'Vat Colony-Unknown
The Qu'Vat colony is a Klingon colony, consisting of two settlements on the southern and one on the northern hemisphere with a total population of several million. |
Rura Penthe-Beta Quadrant, Class P Rura Penthe is the fourth planet in a trinary star system in the Beta Quadrant. Used as a penal colony by the Klingon Empire, this planet is also referred to as The aliens' graveyard. Rura Penthe is a Klingon asteroid located within 2 Sectors of the border to the Federation. Its surface temperature is extremely low and glaciers dominate the planet's appearance. Without proper clothing, no humanoid lifeform is able to survive on the surface, which is why most of the mining facility is underground. The asteroid states one of the most important sources of Dilithium ore in the Klingon Empire. To mine the precious material, a penal colony for both Klingon and alien prisoners was established here, providing sufficient labor force for the extensive exploitation of the asteroids's resources. Rura Penthe has been a penal colony of the Klingon Empire since at least the early 22nd century. Banishment to its submontane Dilithium mines has since been one of the most feared punishments troughout the whole Klingon Empire and its enemies. It is said, that almost no one survives more than a year in the mines, which does not matter to most of the prisoners as the majority of them are sentenced to a life-long exile. |
Ty'Gokor-Unknown Ty'Gokor is a fortified planetoid located in an asteroid belt deep inside Klingon territory. The planetoid is protected by a powerful defensive shield and a tachyon detection grid. At least fifteen Klingon warships are stationed near it at all times. |
Narendra III-Beta Quadrant, Class M The M-class world Narendra III is the third planet in the Narendra system and was the site of a Klingon colony in the 22nd century as well as of an outpost in the mid-24th century. In 2344, the outpost was attacked and destroyed by four Romulan warbirds, an assault which would later be known as the Battle of Narendra III. The Federation starship USS Enterprise-C responded to the outpost's distress call, but was also lost in the battle. This course of action was considered as an act of honor by the Klingon Empire, which led to the signing of a new peace treaty. The Human Captain Jonathan Archer was put on trial on Narendra III, for conspiring against the Klingon Empire. Archer was sentected to life-long exile on Rura Penthe. |
