Nahargarh

The picturesque Nahargarh Fort (also called Tiger Fort) is situated on a ridge 6-and-a-1/2 km away from the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. It was built later than the nearby Jaigarh Fort in 1734 and extended in 1868.

It can be approached by jeep or auto-rickshaw by road from the Ambar Palace through the hills, and the journey is spiced with a little nervousness about the steep climb. At the top, one gets a breathtaking view of the city of Jaipur, and can go around the fort, which is partly ruined, partly fine, and partly under repair. One can see this fort from practically every part of the city of Jaipur.
