I am writing up some new poetry.  Unfortunately due to poor secretarial skills (read: my room was messy from bringing 4 years of college's worth of junk back home before leaving for Taiwan), I was unable to find my award-winning poetry from when I was crowned Poet Laureate of Middletown High School in 1997 such as The Barbie Doll, The Poet Who Hates Poetry, The Case of the Fake Friends, Cycles, This Poem's Not About You, The War, and an all-time favorite Pining Needles.  Damn, I loved those poems too.  Anyway, I leave you with an old one I made up in the car on my way to preview days at OU back when I thought I was going to be a chemistry major (before my first chemistry professors gave me grades that told me otherwise) which I never wrote down before to my knowledge...

Dear Old Dad and Sweet Mom,
I built my first atomic bomb.
Now I'm off to destroy the world.
Love ya bunches,
Your little girl
Before you delve into my poetry there are some writing trademarks about which I should warn you:
I rarely use punctuation in my poetry except at the end as my poetry is a complete thought and not a bunch of sentences.  I also use what I call the "insignificant i". When I do not capitalize the letter "i" in reference to myself it's because I feel insignificant in that particular poem or line.  It's not a typo and as a linguist I am well aware of traditional American English mechanics and syntax...which gives me even more right to blatantly abuse them.

So there.

So, without much further ado, here's some of my recent poetry.  It's mostly translated from my backwards cursive writing in the number of notebooks that I keep around in case I get inspired to write.  Backwards to make it difficult for people to read without a mirror...including myself sometimes.
