Lloyd: ......so.....

Lloyd: wait....What chapter is this again?!

Chapter nine: Dragon Scales

Eiko almost fell over. An Obit?!!! That can’t be true!!!!!

Yu blinked and stared at her laughing a bit, “What is up with you...?”

Eiko took a deep breath and pointed at the black markings on his arm, “Why do you happen to have a black tattoo on your arm?.....like an Obit?” She knew she should’ve said anything, but the temptation flooded her.

Yu’s face went blank and her looked down at his arm. He gasped and pulled down his sleeve and looked up at Eiko, “I-I’m not....I’m really no-“

--Changing of Time and movement--

Everything fell back into it’s place, the whole world moving again.

Yu stopped himself as he saw the world take motion again. Rose falling into Lavitz’s arms, Albert feeling the pain of Lloyd’s hands in his back, Dart running to Lavitz and Rose, too late. Everything went back to normal, for the moving part of it that is.

Setsuna glanced at Yu and Eiko. Both out of their original spots, apparently, both had moved during which time had been stopped. She could hear their thoughts, the curious murmuring of Yu’s and the questioning ones of Eiko’s.

Eiko looked at Yu once more, whom tried to ignore her, “ Why in the world did I say anything? Why?!!” She paused a moment, to think about the slight moment she had had with Lloyd, the wingly. “ Should I have gone with him....now that I know about Yu?”

Setsuna couldn’t keep herself from using her telepathy, “ What do you mean say anything...and what happened between you and Yu and Lloyd?”

Eiko’s eyes became round and she glanced up at Setsuna, dumbfounded.

Setsuna looked at her as well, then closed her eyes, concentrating, “Well, are you going to tell me.....?”

Eiko took a deep breath and stared everywhere for a moment, “Later....let me think alone now, please.....”

Setsuna nodded and she tuned herself out of Eiko’s mind. She tried listening to Yu’s, finding nothing but a shrouded black mist covering his thoughts. Dazed by this, she felt to bring balance by running to Lavitz who had been grieving over Rose.

Eiko, seeing the dying Rose and the Heartbroken Lavitz sighed with tears in her eyes, “Maybe it would’ve been better to leave all of this sorrow and Death behind........and the evilness of whatever.....” Suddenly, the moment her and Lloyd had had hit her again.

--Recent Flashback--

Lloyd’s eyes widened. “You’re an Espial......one of the highest liege......the white....” he whispered softly.

Eiko closed her eyes. Was he going to kill her too, right there, right now?! She didn’t know and felt extremely insecure.

Lloyd narrowed his eyes and continued gazing, then asked, “Will you come with me?”

Eiko was stunned, she opened her eyes and uncomprehendingly stared up at him. “What?....” her tone was soft and unknowing.

Lloyd smiled and his eyes turned soft as he gazed at the white espial that fixed her eyes on him as well, “Will you come with me?”

It hit Eiko, not as hard as before, but still greatly. She had a flow of mixed emotions fly into her insides. Should she go with him? Should she not? He was handsome.....quite handsome she told herself. But, she did love another. She hardly knew him, his very existence was foreign to her.

Lloyd looked at her questioningly.

Eiko gulped and said softly, “I’m not evil........”

Lloyd cocked his head to the side and gazed into her eyes again, smiling, “Nor am I...”

Eiko’s eyes widened, ‘What to say now? what to do?’ she felt a rush of fear hot it her veins.

Lloyd stroked her cheek and took her hand with the other, lifting her up, away from Yu and the ground. “Please, come with me...?”

Eiko took a deep breath, “I-I.....”

--end of flashback--

What had she seen in Yu’s eyes? Hate...anger...? Why? Did he hate Lloyd....was he mad at him for what he had done......or just scared of something.....? Ah, but what?

Yu never wanted to discuss his feelings, never wanted to talk to anybody......now, more than before, Eiko felt scared. What was she to do...? She couldn’t talk to Yu, he wouldn’t even look at her, why would he say anything to her? Maybe, she could wait around for Lloyd...or maybe, he would wait for her...? She wanted to talk to him. She hadn’t the slightest why, but something in her screamed out for her to do so.

Eiko had been brought into reality with Lavitz’s crying over Rose, and she looked at the ground, sad for him, sad for the loss.

She gasped! A big, shiny blue scale lay upon the floor of the dungeon where Lloyd had almost been struck by the oblivion.

Setsuna, hearing her thoughts on accident, turned around to see Eiko examining air on the ground. She was amazed that Eiko would just go crazy at this moment.

Eiko, about to touch the scale, caught Yu’s attention. Yu kicked the scale before she could touch it, it poofing into existence before Setsuna’s eyes.

Setsuna’s mouth dropped, “Dragon scale....”

Eiko glared at him, a little mad at Yu for kicking it from her, “ Why did you do that?!”

Yu, “If you’re the first to touch it after it’s been dropped.....” He trailed off.

“and?.....” Eiko raised an eyebrow.

Yu swallowed hard and looked away, “Forget it, $%^&*@# pick it up if you want to!”

Eiko was taken aback and she glanced up at him. He had just cussed her out. Her. Tatsumi had to be wrong now! Tatsumi was whom she glanced up at now. Tatsumi was awed by his actions too and just dropped her jaw and shrugged.

Yu was quite surprised that he let his anger slip and just blinked and looked away, ashamed.

Setsuna cared not what had happen, but about the dragon scale, “How did you two see that?!!!”

Eiko stared at her blankly, “See what?”

“That scale....the blue thing you reached for.....” Setsuna breathed fast.

Eiko picked up the scale and then asked, “This?”

Setsuna slapped her head, “NO! You touched it!!!!!! Why in the world?!!!!!” Setsuna shook her head and collapsed to her knees.

Lloyd: I’m a little odd in this fic huh?

Omni: ......

Lloyd: .....
