A Future For Vietnam, from the words of Nguyen Trung De |
A peaceful, prosperous and traditional Vietnam; ruled according to the Kingly Way and respectful of her sacred ancestors and conformity with the movement of Heaven: that is my great goal for the country. The Vietnamese people have dealt with many invading super-powers long before the Americans came in to the south. Bordered by the powerful nation of China and located along the European spice trade routes, Vietnam has been attacked and overrun many times. However, no invasion or occupation of Vietnam has ever succeeded in the long run. From the Chinese to the Mongols to the French and the Americans no one has ever been able to successfully conquer and occupy the nation of Vietnam. Through the years of dealing with these enemies, most especially the French, Vietnam has undergone extreme hardships. It is clear that a period of stable prosperity is long over due and only the restoration of the imperial system can accomplish this. Only by keeping alive the ancient traditions as well as restoring respect for the teachings of family loyalty, virtue, honor and the correct sacred reverence of the Emperor and great ancestors and all of the Confucian ideals can Vietnam come back to the greatness and prosperity of the Dai Nam. This could have begun to take shape under the leadership of His Imperial Majesty, the august Emperor Bao Dai, in the 1930's there was a very real and tempting chance, but this was thwarted by the colonial policies of France and communist revolutionaries. What Vietnam needs is a traditional, Confucian monarchy in which the people remember to honor those who have sacrificed for their future in the past, who venerate their memory with humility and courage by devout worship, keeping true to all sacred things and submitting to the guiding hand of the traditional Son of Heaven who alone has the right and ability to rule the country, to put back together the fragments of pure Vietnamese society and mold the old and the modern into the ideal government. Only the Nguyen dynasty has the legitimacy to rule since the Communist powers have repudiated and insulted the Kingly Way when they took the power passed to them and abolished the monarchy instead of following the correct path of restoring a truly independent and righteous dynasty. The Mandate of Heaven still belongs to the Nguyen until some worthy cause takes up the challenge to restore to Viet Nam to the rule of Heaven and correctly follows the Kingly Way of benevolent leadership. I want to see a Vietnam that is free, unique and preserves it's traditions by keeping them in place. Where people return to their roots instead of becoming a mindless copy of other countries, where all the gods of all religions are respected, where the Emperor is honored and protected and where the sacrifices of all the heroes of the past to accomplish this are remembered. I want a Vietnam where people look upon the Son of Heaven with respect and admiration, reverence and devotion rather than living in suspicion and terror of their socialist dictators. I want to see a Vietnam where people are free to worship as our ancestors did, openly and without fear of punishment and are able to care for their own villages and lands as is best for them instead of how a political apointee chooses for them. I want a Vietnam that is united from the Golden Throne in Hue, tearing down the divisions still lingering between north and south. The Vietnam I desire, and the Vietnam the people justly deserve can only be restored when the yellow emperor sits again in Hue, putting the land back in the harmony it once had before it's soul was driven out by traitors and foreign imperialists. The dragon is not dead but only sleeps and will awaken to guard and nurture the land when people recognize again the Mandate of Heaven. This should be the goal of all people in the world. This is the future I envision for the people of Vietnam. I wish happiness to the land and people and I wish long life to His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Bao Long, Vietnam's lawful emperor. |
