Indian Hydrobiology
Indian Hydrobiology publishes original research papers and review articles on all aspects of the biology of aquatic organisms in relation to environment and exploitation of these for the benefit of man.The Journal is supplied free to all members of Krishnamurthy Institute of Algology, Chennai, India
Instructions to Authors
- Indian Hydrobiology accepts original research papers and review articles on all aspects of the biology of aquatic organisms in relation to their environment and exploration of these for the benefit of man.
- Papers are published on the understanding that the authors have to pay a page charge to be notified to the authors at the time of intimating acceptance of the paper for publication.
- Manuscripts should be submitted both electronically (as email attachments in Microsoft Word or on CDs) and in hard copy (original plus one copy) to the Editorial Office. Figures can be imported into the Word document or be formatted as separate TIFF, EPS, Power Point, Word or Excel files. Authors should provide 3 hard copies of figures which cannot be sent electronically. All manuscripts must be typed in a 12-point font and must be DOUBLE-SPACED THROUGHOUT, including the literature list, tables, table headings, etc. Times Roman font is preferred; do not use a sans serif font such as Arial, Helvetica, or Geneva. The Abstract and Results should be written in past tense, except in the case of descriptions of new species. Do not justify right margins or use boldface for headings, and type all headings flush left. Italicize subheadings. Latin names of species should have the author(s) of the name listed when first used, unless a large number of names with authors are included in the tables. Consult the LATEST ISSUE OF THE JOURNAL for other questions regarding style. New taxa must be established in accordance with the latest International Code of Botanical Nomenclature.
- The title of the paper, name(s) of the author(s) with address, total number of typed pages, number of plates and figures should be type written on a separate sheet and an abstract not exceeding 200 words.
- The first page of the manuscript should contain the title of the paper. a running title and key words, name(s) of author(s) with address and an abstract not exceeding 200 words.
- Original research papers should be divided into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements (if any) and References.
- Tables should be typed on separate sheets with table number and title.
- Figures should be grouped together in such a way as to fit into A4 size plate. Scale should always be drawn on the plate.
- Do not mix photographs and ink drawings on one plate.
- Legend should be typed on separate sheets for each plate and inserted before the plate.
- Indicate clearly the position where tables, plates of figures should be inserted in the text.
- References in the text should be by name of author(s) and year of publication. detailed reference giving name of author(s), year of publication, title of paper, abbreviated name of journal, volume, number and inclusive pages should be listed under references. Books should be cited by title, name of Publisher and / or place of Publication and total number of pages.

- Those who desire acknowledgement of the receipt of the paper should enclose a self-addressed post card which will be returned with MSS Number and date of receipt at this office.
- All enquiries about the MSS should mention the MSS number and date of receipt at this office.
- Twenty off prints of the paper will be supplied free of charge to the senior author/ or whoever is authorized to receive them at the time of submission of the manuscript
