Valkris from "The Search for Spock"

Valkris played by Cathie Shirriff, wore a glittery, low cut costume reminiscent of the original Trek series.
Although the costume is made from light materials, it has it's own discomforts.  The necklace inhibits head movement, and the metal belt buckle makes sitting down a study of impalement.  The headdress, is heavey and makes going through low doorways a challenge.
On the plus side.  The liquid silver(fabric name) is available at most fabric stores.  The tunic and A-line skirt material(a metallic knit)can usually be found at Halloween and Christmas.  The fabric has a tendency to snag.  A good alternative would be ''Slinky Knit" found at most fabric stores.  It is a low maitenance fabric that travels well, and could be used as part of your regular wardrobe.  The wide blue elastic belt material is occasionally avaiable at fabric stores, but a bit of searching on the web should solve that problem.

This picture is from Star Trek Klingon   For the Galactic Traveler.  It shows Valkris masqued with a viel.  Although this part of her costume was never used in the film, it is an interesting detail.
