In the sixties, when the USSR and the USA were deeply locked into a ludicrous arms and space-race, the germans were taking science-fiction TV programmes to new heights.

Millions of Germans were watching the adventures of "Commander McLane", Hasso and their spaceship "Orion 8", and how they defended earth against the never seen, but deadly vicious "frogs".  Here the german fan-club page.

A great sound-track and excellent use of special effects made it a "must watch" at the time.
