There are two types of sound files we can put on a page. MIDI's and WAV files. The difference between the two is that a WAV can contain speech also. All sound files you wish to use on your page must be saved and uploaded in the same manner as image files.

Here is an example of a WAV file.

Here is the code:
<embed src=""file of WAV from File Manager">

Here is an example of a MIDI file.

Here is the code:
<embed src=""file of MIDI from File Manager">

If you do not want a speaker on your page the code would be:
<embed src="file of MIDI or WAV from File Manager"autostart="true">The file will start to play as soon as page is entered.

The <embed> attribute is a Netscape tag. It is recognized by Webtv but not by all browsers.If a person viewing your page has a browser that does not support Netscape the above tags will be ignored by the browser and they will not hear the music play. In order for the page to work with IE and others you must use the following attributes:

<bgsound src="file of MIDI or WAV from File Manager">

The MIDI will begin to play when the page is entered. When building a page using Webtv is is a good idea to use both sets of tags. This way as many browsers as possible can display your page as written.
