This is a "NO KILL" Bigfoot Research Web Site!

This web site is going through some changes. I am hoping it will help the bigfoot enthusiast or the beginning bigfoot researchers that are new to the field. A veteran might find something to help them also. I am continually making changes and adding links as I find them. Some of the comments on this page are just my options and thoughts. I am no expert! I am trying to add some info for people to consider just to be helpful. Nothing is carved in stone! I would never say anything to offend or discredit anyone or their ideas even if I didn't agree with their theory or research! When people are outside on the porch listening to the frogs & crickets hoping for a distant howl or scream or hiking through the woods hoping to see some sign that a bigfoot has been in the area or a actual bigfoot they are enjoying nature at its finest. There is so much beauty to see in the woods with the abundance of insects, plants & animals. The main thing to remember is to have fun and enjoy your trip to the woods & be safe **J. Vaughn**

Have you looked into the eye's of a RankStranger?

He could be watching you!

If you have you will never forget that moment!

My view on Bigfoot Research!

I don't always agree with everything said in the links below! But you can view for yourself, the great amount of evidence that bigfoot exists! There are hundred's of sightings every year. Can everybody be wrong on what they see? They defiantly seen something but what? What about the foot prints? I know in soft ground or mud prints can be made easy enough but what about in hard ground? It takes something very heavy to make prints in hard ground! That's a lot of weight to carry in the woods. Primates have dermal ridges in their footprints that are different than humans. It would be very difficult to fake dermal ridges. I believe a lot of people will not believe in Bigfoot or Sasquatch until they have a body they can examine for proof. It is sad that one of them would have to be killed before people will believe in there existence! J. Vaughn (EastKyJohn)

"Animal Sound Links"

There are a lot of animal sounds in the woods. It pays to know the normal everyday sounds that you might hear. You need to familiarize yourself with them for the area you are doing research in. Different states has a lot of different animals that inhabit the areas that you would be doing research in. There are some animals that you will only see or hear in the daytime. At night there are completely different types of animals that that you will see or hear at night. In my opinion about 95% can be explained with a little time and effort through research. There are a few that can't. Those are the ones we need to try to find an answer for! I have noticed that if something startles a bird at night that is normally a day dweller it will start chirping. I have seen deer or a coyote go through the bushes or small trees and a bird will chirp or whistle a few times. I have also shined a light on them and they would chirp or whistle. I am not saying all bird whistles and chirps that you might hear at night are from birds. Just some of them!

_________Guide to Animal Sounds on the Net_________

_____________OwlCam Sound Library_____________

_____________Owls of North America_____________

There are a lot of different Owls in North America. They are active at night and It would pay to know what type of owls are in your state and learn there calls especially if you are doing research at night. Each type has a different set of calls. Most people will recognize the common hoot that some owls make. They can also make some strange and eerie sounds also. You need to be able to recognize there Breeding Call, Territorial Call, Defensive Call, & Shrieks of the owls in the state that you are doing research in. Some males have a lower-pitched voice than females. For an example I am using two owls that are in my area from the Owls of North America web site. Great Horned Owls have a large repertoire of sounds, ranging from deep booming hoots to shrill shrieks. The male's resonant territorial call "hoo-hoo hoooooo hoo-hoo" can be heard over several miles during a still night. Both sexes hoot, but males have a lower-pitched voice than females. They give a growling "krrooo-oo" or screaming note when attacking intruders. Other sounds include a "whaaa whaaaaaa-a-a-aarrk" from disturbed birds, a catlike "MEEE-OWww", barks, hair-raising shrieks, coos, and beak snapping. Some calls are ventriloquial. Most calling occurs from dusk to about midnight and then again just before dawn. Eastern Screech Owl- Males have a lower-pitched voice than females. The male's most common call is an eerie, mellow, muted trill given during the mating and nesting seasons. Each call lasts 2 to 3 seconds with about 35 notes given, and repeated at various intervals. This call is primarily territorial in nature and announces ownership of nest cavities. When in the nest with young, adults give a descending whinny call, instead of the normal call. This whinny call is given through the winter until the mating call begins again. Females tend to bark or hoot when defending the nest. Young "peep" for food during their first three weeks, then chatter or hum later. Fledglings demand food with a harsh "keeeerr-r-r-r". They do not call while in flight, except when alarmed. The Owls of North America is a good web site for info and sounds of owls and would pay to check it out!
I'm not trying to say a Bigfoot / Sasquatch can't mimic other animals with whistles, chirps, or hoots! There are a lot of dedicated researchers that have heard them mimic other animals. I am trying to help save some valuable time when checking out a sighting report or a new area. A researcher could spend days, weeks, or months trying to find the animal making a weird sound at night and later find out it was a common owl or a everyday animal. The more knowledge a researcher has about wildlife in the area they are checking the quicker they can determine if a Bigfoot or a group of them are in the area.
