Season 1 Episode 15
Commander Sisko is slated to supervise an operation involving the tapping of the molten core of the fifth Bajoran moon of Jeraddo for the purposes of a large-scale energy transfer. But the planet must be devoid of life for this to be accomplished so that no one is hurt, and when unauthorized personnel are discovered to be living there, Major Kira goes to investigate. When she arrives, she discovers a stubborn old Bajoran farmer who refuses to leave. When he is wounded by one of the Bajoran guards, Kira is forced to examine how much she has changed since she became the Bajoran administrator with the Federation team on the space station.
