When a group of diplomats arrives on Deep Space Nine on a fact-finding mission to the wormhole, Commander Sisko recognizes it as a pointless extravagance and assigns Dr. Bashir to be the host for the delegation, much to Julian's dismay. Complicating this is the fact that Lwaxana Troi is among them, and she's taken a shine to Odo.
