Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Time's Orphan

Season 6 Episode 24

Plot Summary: O'Brien's 8-year old daughter, Molly, falls into a time portal, and when the crew pull her out she's an 18 year old who's been in isolation for ten years on a pre-civilization Bajor. O'Brien and Keiko try to civilize her but they know they most return her to the past, for her own good. Once through the portal, 18-year old Molly, finds 8-year old Molly cowering in a corner. The 18-year old guides her former self back through the portal, where she is reunited with her parents. With the young Molly back with the O'Briens, the older one disappears. She stopped herself, from ever being stranded for the ten years.

Sub-Plot: Worf and Dax take care of Kirayoshi, O'Brien's 1-year old son.

My Opinion: This was pretty good. The plot was sort of plain, but it had some nice twists. I believe the funny sub-plot helped out a lot (Gung, Gung, Gung!). Overall it reminded me of "Change of Heart," nothing too impressive, but enjoyable nonetheless. There really isn't much else to say about this episode.

Wrap-Up: "Time's Orphan" was plain, but enjoyable nonetheless. I give it two and a half stars.
