Rose Blair Polk

Rose Blair Polk-Regent 1927-1928

Rose Blair Polk (Mrs. Edward Monroe Polk), born in Dallas, Texas, is a daughter of James Robert Blair and Harriett Maria Cushman (Blair). She married Edward Monroe Polk September 19th, 1900, in Corsicana, Texas. They have one son, Edward Monroe Polk, Jr. She was educated in private schools and by governesses and had musical training in Dallas, Boston, New York City, Chicago Musical College, and is a concert artist. She was a charter member of Nevin Musical Club, Corsicana, and at this time is its president. She is an honorary member of the Navarro Medical Society, and a member of the Texas Branch of the Colonial Dames of America, Chapter eight. She was organizing regent and first regent of James Blair Chapter D.A.R., and is a member of the Daughters of 1812. She has given many concerts for educational and charitable causes and to aid children’s hospitals in her own and other states. She is an Episcopalian.
