        8471424. JACOB EDDY was born on January 23, 1796 in Deerfield, Massachusetts. He is the son of JACOB EDDY and SARAH CLARK. You may read about them on the EDDYE family page. Just follow the link at the bottom of the page. He migrated to New Albany, Pennsylvania from New Salem, Massachusetts. JACOB EDDY married SARAH NICHOLS, daughter of JOHN NICHOLS and MARGARET POTTER. SARAH NICHOLS died in 1868. JACOB EDDY passed away on March 4, 1873. JACOB EDDY and SARAH NICHOLS are supposed to be buried in the Hatch Hill Cemetery just outside of New Albany, Pennsylvania. JACOB EDDY and SARAH NICHOLS had nine children:

        84714247. Ruth Eddy who was born on August 29, 1834 and married Jesse Larrabee.
        84714248. James Madison Eddy born on April 1, 1839 and married Roseltha Van Dyke.
        84714249. Martha Angeline Eddy born on May 3, 1843 at New Albany, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Martha married Darius John Gowin.

        84714242. ROBERT EDDY married JULIA HENSON. ROBERT EDDY enlisted on November 10, 1861, in Towanda, Pennsylvania. He was in Company G, 57th Pennsylvania Infantry. ROBERT EDDY died in Columbia College Hospital, Washington, DC, on December 31, 1861. ROBERT EDDY is buried in the National Military Asylum Cemetery. This was during the Civil War. ROBERT EDDY and JULIA HENSON had three children:

        847142422. ROBERT ORLANDO EDDY married OLIVE ALLEN. ROBERT EDDY was born in 1855 and died October 31, 1904. OLIVE ALLEN was born in 1863 and died on November 4, 1904.

        8471424221. ALEC LAMONT EDDY (9/22/1881-2/28/1965)and DAISY BELL MYERS (6/15/1891-4/11/1990) were married in January of 1906. ALEC EDDY and DAISY MYERS moved from Mehoopany, Pennsylvania to Barclay Mountain in 1910. From there they moved to Laquin, Pennsylvania. One afternoon when DAISY MYERS was baby sitting, she took her clothes and when she left she met up with ALEC EDDY and they boarded the night train and went to Waverly, New York and got married. When they returned they bought a rough-cut, five room house for $50. They lived here until they bought a house next to the Schrader Creek, behind the sawmill, on a flat area that was called "the plane". Occasionally ALEC and DAISY were able to go square dancing. ALEC EDDY was a good dancer and an able caller. ALEC EDDY'S father ROBERT EDDY also lived in Laquin, Pennsylvania. ALEC EDDY and DAISY MYERS were instrumental in the organization of the Laquin reunions for over 30 years.

        In 1924 ALEC EDDY and DAISY MYERS moved to Towanda, Pennsylvania. ALEC EDDY was very well known for his playing and management of the Towanda Baseball team. All of the boys all played on the team as well. ALEC EDDY also owned and operated the Durant Automobile Agency in Towanda. On July 12, 1930 there was a meeting of automobile agents of Durant in Bath, New York. Agents from this area were attorney E. A. Thompson of Towanda, Fred Crain of Monroeton, and Alec Eddy, his sons, Lloyd and Glenn, of the firm Eddy and Sons. ALEC EDDY's funeral service was held at the Miller Funeral Home, in Towanda, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Richard Welliver officiating. Pallbearers were, Harry Sims, Don Stevens, Roy Carman, William Vosburg, William Maryott, and Francis Rockefeller. ALEC EDDY and DAISY MYERS are buried in the Wysox Cemetery. Besides REX EDDY (3/23/1916-5/7/1987) they had two other sons and a daughter.

        84714142214. a daughter is buried in the Barclay Cemetery. There was also Lloyd Delmont Eddy (2/13/1909-12/4/1992) and Glenn Robert Eddy (9/27/1911-12/22/1969).

        85714142212. Glenn Robert Eddy (9/27/1911-12/22/1969) was the middle son. His funeral service was held at the Miller Funeral Home, Towanda, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Paul Herring officiating. Internment was in the Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Johnson and they had two children:

        8571414221212. Leslie Eddy lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Leslie Eddy is a graduate of Towanda High School, Towanda, Pennsylvania, and West Chester University. She is pursuing her post-graduate degree at Immaculata College in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She is employed as a psychotherapist with Human Services in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Leslie Eddy is married to Robert Santise. They were married in October of 2000. Robert Santise is a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Montvale, New Jersey, and West Chester University. He is employed as an integration engineer with First Consulting Group in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Ronnie Eddy and Gayle Shrimp later divorced. Ronnie has remarried.
        857141422122. Linda Eddy married Rich Casey in 1974, at the Lowry Air Force Chapel in Colorado. The ceremony was performed by Chaplin Flood. When Linda was born her parents lost the race with the stork at about 3:30 am when the family automobile caught fire on South Main Street in Athens, Pennsylvania. They were on their way to the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Linda was born before the ambulance arrived.

        84714142211. Lloyd Delmont Eddy was the oldest. Lloyd Eddy began his schooling at Monroeton, Pennsylvania, where his early school teachers noted his high abilities in writing classes.

        Lloyd Eddy's first job was working for Ed Jones' Grocery Store for 10 cents an hour. He later worked for Shear and Sharping Shoe Store. After graduation from Towanda High School he worked with his father in the car business.
        On November 11, 1937, Lloyd Eddy married Alberta Granger at the Towanda Episcopal Church. They moved to Corning, New York, where their son,

        847141422111. Duane Eddy was born in 1938. Duane Eddy is a famous guitar player, "Mr. Twang" himself. He has made many recordings, won an emmy, is on TNN, and is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. His wife is Deed.
        Lloyd Eddy worked for the CoBaCo Bread Co., delivering to the surrounding towns.

        The family moved to Bath, New York, birthplace of their son,

        Lloyd Eddy and Alberta Granger ran a family grocery store for two years in Guyanoga, New York, in the Finger Lakes region, where he pursued a lifelong desire to be a writer. The quiet beauty of the area provided him with a great source of inspiration.
        In 1951, the family moved to Arizona, where Lloyd Eddy worked as the store manager for the Safeway and El Rancho Market Chains until his retirement in 1971. After retiring he continued to pursue his writing, eventually to have several articles published in national magazines. Lloyd never regretted the move West, but a part of his heart always stayed in Towanda, Pennsylvania.
