This information was researched by someone else and given to me. They have done a lot of work and we thank them very much. Without the help of others it would not be possible to pass on this information for other genealogists. The names in the bold print is my family tree, CATHY EDDY WEED.
I. MARTIN MYERS-Martin Meyer was born about 1760 in Hombressen, Germany. Martin died in 1822 at Dimock, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. You may read more about MARTIN on his own page. Just follow the links at the bottom of this page.
1. SURZARDUS MYERS was born about 1786 in Vermont. He died January 25, 1874 in Windham Township, in Wyoming County, PA. SURZARDUS married MARIA??. MARIA and SURZARDUS filed for divorce on January 24, 1854, Court Docket 6, page 302, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Maria was living in Midland, Michigan in 1860.
SURZARDUS was a soldier in the War of 1812 in the 16th U.S. Infantry. He enlisted October 1813. He is described as 5’8” tall, blue eyes, brown hair, fair complexion, age 28, born in Vermont, and a carpenter. He was discharged in August 1815 at the close of the war. He had a claim for Bounty Land on February 1851 in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, when he was age 65, living in Windham Township (it had his signature on it). If he got the land, it must have been in Jenningsville. In later years he died in a “home”. There is a marker with his name and others on it. There is photo of SURZARDUS’S wife, a tiny birdlike lady wearing what appears to be a lace cap.
In the 1820 census for Brownville, Jefferson County, New York, SURZARDUS, is living with his wife and two daughters.
In the 1830 census for Springville Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, Zertus (SURZARDUS) MYERS and his wife are shown as age “30-40”, males one “under five”, two “10-15”, females one “under five”, two “5-10”, two “10-15”, and one “20-30”.
In the 1840 census for Windham Township, Luzerne County, (now Wyoming County) SURZARDUS is shown age “50-60”, wife “40-50”, males one “under five”, one “5-10”, one “15-20”, females one “under five”, tow “5-10”, two “10-15”, one “15-20”, and one “20-30”.
In the 1850 census for Windham Township, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, and SURZARDUS is shown as age 65. His occupation is listed as a laborer. Place of birth is Vermont. Maria is listed as age 52 and born in New York. Three others in the household, were Emiline age 30, P. Horton age 14, and Eleanor age 10.
In the 1860 census for Windham Township, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, there is an S. Myers (probably SURZARDUS) shown as age 74. His occupation is a day laborer. His real estate is valued at $100.00. His personal property value is $25.00.
In the 1870 census SURZARDUS is living with William J. Knappen (age 63) and wife Serus (age 60). SURZARDUS is age 85 and claims his birthplace as Vermont.
An obit in the “Tunkhannock Republic”, on February 1, 1871 lists ZARDUS MYERS, in Windham Township, on January 26, 1871, aged 85 years.
On May 1995 a request to the National Archives in Washington, D.C. for records of a pension application from the War of 1812 brought no results. No record was found.

11. Ruth Ann Myers was born about 1821. She died on February 18, 1894 in Midland, Michigan. Ruth married Joseph Peasley, Harvey (Harry) Rumrill, and Ephraim Allen. Children of Ruth and Harvey were:
111. Homer Rumrill was born on April 7, 1853 and died on May 9, 1907 in Michigan. Homer married Virginia Alger on November 21, 1879.
112. Mary Rumrill was born on April 14, 1858 in Midland, Michigan. Mary died on September 24, 1907. Mary married Kingsley Comstock.
113. Alice Rumrill married Charles Pineo on September 6, 1873 in Midland, Michigan.

12. Lucinda Myers was born May 18, 1830 in Susquehanna County, Dimock, Pennsylvania. She died on July 22, 1886 in Rush Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Lucinda married Merritt S. Comstock. Their children were all born in Windham Township, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.
121. Alice Comstock was born on July 12, 1853 and died on May 29, 1911. Alice married Frank B. Thomas.
122. Kingsley Comstock was born on December 21, 1854 and died on January 16, 1908 in Midland County, Michigan. Kingsley married Mary Rumrill.
123. Fernando Comstock was born on April 30, 1858 and died on May 17, 1894 in Stevensville, Pennsylvania. Fernando married Jennie Culver.
124. Clinton Comstock was born on October 11, 1859 and died on May 17, 1927 in Herrick Township, Pennsylvania. Clinton married Mary Fitch on July 9, 1884.
125. John F. Comstock was born on November 16, 1861 and died on June 8, 1932 in Montrose, Pennsylvania. He married Ida McLaud on August 19, 1889.
126. Marion Comstock was born on May 29, 1865 and died on May 18, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio. Marion married Jonas Phineas McLaud on September 15, 1885.
127. Arthur E. Comstock was born on July 8, 1873 and died January 10, 1938. Arthur married Edith Brotsman on June 11, 1894.
13. Emiline (Emily) was born in 1832 in New York. Emily died on July 16, 1888. Emily is buried in the Scottsville Cemetery, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Emily married Simeon Thompson on November 24, 1856 at Midland, Michigan. Their children were:
131. Hoyt Thompson was born about 1858 in Michigan. Hoyt died December 22, 1943 at Golden Hill, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Hoyt married a Jennie ???
14. LORENZO WASHINGTON MYERS was born March 28, 1834 in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Lorenzo died June 14, 1902 in Jenningsville, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. The obituary of LORENZO MYERS from an unknown source book:
“The object of this sketch was born in Susquehanna County on March 28, 1834 and removed to Bradford County with his parents in 1830, and to Windham Township in 1844, and on to Jenningsville in 1860. There, Lorenzo resided till the time of his death, which occurred on Saturday, June 14, 1902, suddenly of heart failure. Though having been in poor health for several years he was able to be about the most of the time seeing to his business, and about three weeks before his death attended the funeral of his son-in-law, John Fowler at Elmira. In early life he learned the trade of a shoemaker, and after that of a carpenter, and for about twenty years was employed by the tanner company as a carpenter.” “He was married January 1, 1855 to Miss Ruth Trowbridge, a native of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She died on October 14, 1899. To this union eleven children were born, eight of whom survive as follows:
141. Phoebe Jane Myers (1//5/1857-12/31/1941). She lived in Lopez, Pennsylvania, when her father died. Phoebe married David Wilmot Walter on October 22, 1874 in Mehoopany, Pennsylvania. Her second husband was George Arthur Scribner. Phoebe is buried in the Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
142. Mary L. Myers was born on October 27, 1858 and died on March 17, 1859. Mary is buried in the Jenningsville Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
143. Charles W. Myers (3/7/1860-8/13/1934) was born in Marcy, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. He lived in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, when his father died. Charles married Permelia Ann Harding in 1886.
144. George J. Myers was born on December 22, 1861 and died on August 17, 1863.
145. Emily A. Myers (12/22/1861-12/28/1955) married John E. Fowler, Jr. on July 17, 1891, in Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Fowler. Emily is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, New York.
146. Mary Dorliskey Myers (7/6/1866-1/3/1939) married Isaac Coleman and second Isaac Staymets. She lived in Elmira, New York, when her father died.
147. Lorenzo W. Myers (6/1/1868-11/5/1869) was living in Lopez, Pennsylvania, when his father died.
148. Loren Washington Myers (2/27/1871-4/9/1957) died in Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Loren married Clara M. Stanton on June 29, 1895 of Scottsville, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Lorenzo and Clara were divorced. Loren then married Grace A. Taylor (4/20/1880-5/5/1968) on April 5, 1900. Grace was born in Laporte, Pennsylvania and died in Burlington, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Loren and Grace’s children were:
1481. Baby Myers born on March 28, 1902 and died on April 2, 1902.
1482. Lorenzo William Myers (known as Zeke) born on June 7, 1903 in Laquin, Pennsylvania and died on July 23, 1978 in Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Loren married Grace Palmer.
1483. Mattie Phoebe Myers was born on May 13, 1904.
1484. Elmer Martin Myers was born on September 8, 1906 and died on November 29, 1926.
1485. Isaac Coleman Myers was born on November 1, 1907 at Laquin, Pennsylvania. Isaac married Beatrice Charlotte Davidson on November 26, 1936 in Chemung, New York.
1486. Eugene Morris Myers was born on February 5, 1910 and died October 1, 1910.
Loren and Grace Taylor Myers lived in Laquin and Jenningsville, Pennsylvania. In their later years they had an apartment upstairs at the home of their son, Isaac Myers. Loren was a tall, slender man who even in his later years had a full head of pure white hair, and Grace was a tiny woman (weighing about 90 pounds) who wore her hair in a bun at the nape of her neck.
Loren worked on dairy farms, at the sawmill in Laquin, and the coal mine at Barclay, Pennsylvania. There he drove the engine that took the coal to the car.
Grace took care of the house and made many quilts, all hand stitched. She made “Log Cabin” quilts for all the granddaughters when they married. Sylvia says, “She died with mine half finished and Mom sewed the rest of the quilt top. I carried it around the country for many years. For Christmas of 1992, my daughter, Barbara, finally quilted it for me. It was the nicest gift I received!” Grace also helped out Dr. Coon with birthing babies.
Loren and Grace had two other sons who died young. Their first born son died at birth and their last born son, Eugene, died suddenly at eight months of age. Their son, Elmer, broke his back in an automobile accident in Sheshequin, Pennsylvania at the age of 19. He was paralyzed from the waist down. He died at home about a year after the accident. Lorenzo and Grace Taylor Myers are buried at Ulster, Pennsylvania.
In the index files at the Wyoming County Historical Society a record of marriage was found: “Lorenzo W. Myers, age 24 was married to Clara M. Stanton of Scottsville, on June 29, 1895. Clara is the daughter of Charles and Mary Stanton. The Justice of the Peace was Irvin Eyer.
149. SILAS HOUGHTON MYERS (6/22/1872-6/30/1962) married ROSE (ROSA, ROSALINDA) MARY WANDALL. He suffered a heart attack on Main Street in Towanda, Pennsylvania. He was born in Jenningsville, Pennsylvania. He spent much of his life in Laquin, Pennsylvania where he was engaged in lumbering operations. Then he moved to Towanda, Pennsylvania. In his retirement he was known as an expert fisherman. Funeral services were held at the Miller Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, Towanda, Pennsylvania. Interment was in the Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, Pennsylvania.
ROSE WANDALL's parents were MAJOR WANDALL and MARY BARNHART. MAJOR and MARY WANDALL also had a son Schuyler Wandall who married Manda Gertrude Sink on May 20, 1899 in Towanda, Pennsylvania. Schuyler and Manda Wandall had a son Samuel Wandell. Samuel Wandell had two sons, Larry and Ronald. Manda Sink's parents were Samuel Sink and Malinda Allis.
HOUGHTON and ROSE MYERS had four children:
1491. DAISY BELL MYERS (6/15/1891-4/11/1990) who married ALEC LAMONT EDDY (9/22/1881-2/28/1965) in January of 1906. DAISY MYERS had a vast knowledge of local history and was of much use to local writers and members of the press. She was a very skilled and extremely interesting storyteller, to whom one could listen for many hours. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, Towanda, Pennsylvania, and internment was in the Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, Pennsylvania. DAISY MYERS and ALEC EDDY had four children:

14912. Glenn Eddy.
14913. REX JEROME EDDY.
14914. Died in infancy and is buried in the Barclay Cemetery.

1492. LeRoy H. Myers (7/17/1909-6/5/1967) was a Pennsylvania Sargent in the 1452 Base Unit AAF in World War II. LeRoy married Eleanor E. Wenck (11/22/1919-2/28/1965).
149a. Ruth Ann Myers (5/29/1875-10/9/1936) married and ? Allen. She lived in Lopez, Pennsylvania, when her father died. Ruth is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Towanda, Pennsylvania.
1493. ? Myers married Paul Johnson and they lived in Meshoppen, Pennsylvania.
1494. John Meyers moved to llion, New York but is thought to have died in Sayre, Pennsylvania.
“The funeral services were held at the church in Jenningsville on Thursday, June 17 and were conducted by the Reverend Martin of Mehoopany, with interment in the cemetery there, and were largely attended. In his death, the community has lost a good citizen and his children a loving parent. They have the sympathy of the people in their bereavement. In politics he was a Democrat and always took an interest in the well fare of the community. He was an industrious citizen and was well known in the county.”
15. Philander Horton Myers was born on February 2, 1836 in Pennsylvania, and died on August 22, 1865 in Midland, Michigan. Philander married Emmogene Munger. Their children were:
151. Ida Lucinda Myers born December 10, 1860 and died on July 26, 1930. Ida married David R. Whitaker on December 1, 1898 and then William A. Butterfield.
16. Eleanor Myers was born about 1840 in Pennsylvania.
17. Emma E. Myers was born on January 14, 1843 and died on June 24, 1912 in Windham Township, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Emma married Benjamin Thomas.
