13136. Samuel David Roof (10/14/1870-2/7/1947) was born in Standing Stone, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, and died in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. He married Ella Keene (1/13/1872-1942) on July 4, 1892. Ella was the daughter of John A. and Sarah Daugherty Keene of Keene Summit in Standing Stone Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. The Keenes were another of those numerous families who came into the township from Sussex County, New Jersey. They owned a fine farm on the river road below Standing Stone Village, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. They had eight children:

131361. Burleigh L. Roof (9/8/1894-4/1983) was born in Standing Stone, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. He married Effie Whipple (8/26/1900-5/29/1994) on December 31, 1925. They had a very comfortable residence on the homestead farm, which he worked with his brothers, Ephton and Raymond. The entire family are highly regarded in the community.
Effie was born in Laceyville, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Judson and Luna Hitchcock Whipple of Laceyville, Pennsylvania. Effie is an active member of the Standing Stone Methodist Church. They had five children:

1313611. Dorothy Jane Roof married Francis Taylor who was born in Herrickville, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

1313612. Ella Mae Roof married a ? Lundy.

1313613. Robert Burleigh Roof married Marian Thompson on July 20, 1957. She was the daughter of Francis Thompson.

1313614. Sarah Emma Roof.

1313615. Joanne Marie Roof (b. 8/30/1939) married Roy Francis King, Jr in September 6, 1961 in St. Petersburg, Floida.

131362. Sara Roof (b. 11/19/1896) married Elmer Depue who was born in Towanda, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

131363. Ephton Roof (8/11/1899-8/29/1990) lived on the homestead.

131364. Blanche Roof (b. 8/10/1901) married Burgess Mann who was born in Wyalusing, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

131365. Florence S. Roof (b. 12/6/1903) married Glenn Atwood who was born in Towanda, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

131366. Hazel G. Roof (b. 3/17/1906) married Clair Summers.

131367. John J. Roof (b. 10/1/1908) in Standing Stone, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. He married Ellen Hawley. Ellen was the daughter of Fred Hawley. John and Ellen lived in Standing Stone, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. They had four children:

1313674. John Marvin Roof (b. 8/8/1933) married Regina May Clark (b. 4/23/1936) on August 2, 1952. She was the daughter of Edward and Mae Irene Cooley Clark of Mercur, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. She was the granddaughter of Charles Leroy and Lulu A. Roof Cooley of Standing Stone, Pennsylvania. John is a Pepsi-Cola distributor at Wysox, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. John and Regina had two children:

13136742. Ronnie Edward Roof (11/19/1960-8/20/2007) died after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease.
He graduated from Northeast Bradford High School in 1977 located in Rome Pennsylvania. He was employed as an independent over-the-road truck driver and traveled many miles with his faithful canine companion, Nipper.
Ronnie was a loving son, father, brother, and grandfather. He had one daughter:
