3. George Adam Werkheiser (4/22/1762-9/13/1833) married Elizabeth Diehl (10/28/1763-8/31/1829) on March 18,1782. George was born in Bethlehem Township. Elizabeth is the daughter of Simon Jacob and Anna Elizabeth Wagner Diehl. George and Elizabeth resided in Plainfield Township. They attended the Plainfield Reformed Church. George and Elizabeth are buried in the Saint Peters Cemetery in Plainfield Township. The tombstone says George Atam Werkheiser.
George Adam was a Private in the 2nd battalion, Sixth Class, Sixth Company of Captain John Lyle of the Northampton County militia. He was guarding British prisoners at Easton, Pennsylvania. He was listed as Workhyser, Wirkiser, Wirkyser, and Wirkhyfer. After leaving the militia he became a farmer. George and Elizabeth had nine children:
31. John George Werkheiser (1785-1834) married Catharine Kessler (b. 9/7/1791). She was baptized on October 16, 1791 at St. Peters Union Church in Plainfield Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of George Peter and Maria Elizabeth Correll Kessler. John and Catharine had six children:

312. George Peter Werkheiser (b. 1819) married Elizabeth Stocker (b. 7/30/1818) on September 1, 1839. George and Elizabeth were both born in Plainfield Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth was baptized on November 15, 1818, at the First Reformed Church in Easton, North Hampton County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were George Carl and Rosina Diehl Stocker. They had six children:
