        7. VALENTINE WERKHEISER SR. (8/6/1768-12/31/1846) was born in Bethlehem Township. VALENTINE WERKHEISER SR. married CHRISTINA FENNER (8/3/1768-7/12/1843). They resided in Forks Township in the 1790 census. Also John Sr., John Peter, and George lived here also. Four persons were listed in VALENTINE WERKHEISER SR.'s household as follows:
        1 male over 16 (VALENTINE WERKHEISER SR. born in 1768) 22 years, 1 male under 16 (Henry born in 1790), 2 females, wife (CHRISTINA FENNER born in 1768) 22 years, and daughter (Catharine born in 1789) 1 year. They attended the Hamilton Township Union Church.

        In the 1800 census, VALENTINE WERKHEISER Sr. had moved to Lower Smithfield Township and then in the 1810 census he moved to Hamilton Township, where he lived out his days, dying in 1846. VALENTINE WERKHEISER and CHRISTINA are buried in the Neola Cemetery or the Hamilton Church Cemetery. VALENTINE and CHRISTINA had ten children:

        71. Catharine Werkheiser (3/9/1789-7/7/1870) married John Williams (2/9/1787-4/4/1865). John was a shoemaker. Catharine's child, according to the 1850 census of Hamilton Township, was illegitimate. This child was:
        711. Able-24 years born in 1826.
        Catharine and John had four children:
        712. Dianna Williams-20 years born in 1830.
        713. Henry-8 years born in 1842.
        714. William Williams-2 years born in 1848.
        715. Mary Williams-3 months born in 1850.

        72. Henry Werkheiser (8/26/1790-12/18/1861) married Catharine Arnold (5/26/1790-5/12/1848). Catharine is buried in a private cemetery 1 1/2 miles north of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. He then married Louise Arnold (10/30/1805-3/12/1871) on January 1, 1848. You may read more about Henry and his family on their own page. Just follow the link at the bottom of this page.

        73. Mary Magadalene Werkheiser (10/1/1792-7/1/1870) married Daniel Hauser.

        74. VALENTINE WERKHEISER, Jr. (12/11/1797-12/5/1857) married MARY KUNKLE (5/4/1796-6/19/1861). VALENTINE WERKHEISER, JR. and MARY KUNKLE lived on a farm two miles north of East Stroudsburg. They are buried in the Dansbury Cemetery in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. You may read more about their family by following the link at the bottom of the page.

        75. Susanna Werkheiser (1/16/1801-6/18/1879) married John Learn, Jr. Susanna and John had ten children:
        751. Christina Learn (b. 10/2/1820) married Tobias Setzer.
        752. Lavina Learn (b. 12/19/1821).
        753. Lydia Learn (b. 4/16/1822).
        754. Elizabeth Learn married William Coffman.
        755. Hannah Learn married Charles Angelmeyer.
        756. Jacob Learn.
        757. Julia Ann Learn married William Heller.
        758. Mary Learn married James Buskirk.
        759. Catherine Learn married Samuel Bowman and they headed west.
        759a. Joseph W. Learn (9/26/1840-3/25/1926) married Mary Elizabeth Heller.

        76. George Werkheiser (3/12/1803-3/18/1882) married Catharine Kresge (5/5/1801-9/17/1885). George and Catharine are buried in the Tannersville Union Cemetery. George and Catharine had thirteen children:
        761. Linford Werkheiser (3/15/1823-8/7/1902) married Eliza. Linford and Eliza are buried in the Tannersville Union Cemetery. Linford and Eliza had a son:
        7611. Joshua Werkheiser (b. 1849). Joshua had a son:
        76111. Harry Werkheiser (b. 1876). Harry had a son:

        762. Enoch Werkheiser (4/26/1825-5/19/1891) married Sarah Sumney. Enoch and Sarah are buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
        763. Julian Werkheiser (b. 2/25/1827).
        764. Mary Ann Werkheiser (b. 11/12/1828) married Bernard Kresge on May 9, 1841.
        765. Elias Werkheiser (12/18/1829-2/15/1901) married Rachel. Elias and Rachel are buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
        766. Lena Werkheiser (b. 1830).
        767. Leonard Werkheiser (b. 1835).
        768. Sarah Werkheiser (b. 4/30/1836).
        769. Hannah Werkheiser (b. 1837).
        769a. William Werkheiser (b. 1841) married Mary Jane Schick on February 3, 1866.
        769b.Lydia Werkheiser (b. 1845) married Jacob Werkheiser. Lydia and Jacob are buried in the Tannersville Union Cemetery.
        769c. Thomas E. Werkheiser (b. 1849) married Delilah.
        769d. Mary Ann Werkheiser (b. 1843).

        77. Charles (Karl) Werkheiser (9/13/1805-4/21/1880) married Elizabeth Eyer (7/5/1802-1/2/1886). They are buried in the Lakeview Cemetery in Saylorsburg, Pennyslvania. Charles and Elizabeth had five children:
        771. Susanna Werkheiser (b. 1827) married Samuel Milton Arnold (b. 1850).
        772. Anna Werkheiser (twin, b. 1829) Aaron Kresge (b. 1830).
        773. Henry Werkheiser (twin, b. 1829).
        774. Rebecca Werkheiser (b. 1833) married Philip Altemus.
        775. Barnett Werkheiser (b. 1839).

        78. John Werkheiser (1808-5/30/1881) married Elizabeth Kunkle (1809-11/10/1864) on December 14, 1828 and then Sarah Ann (?). John and Elizabeth had eleven children:
        781. William Werkheiser (b. 4/29/1831).
        782. Sally Ann Werkheiser (b. 1/30/1833).
        783. Anna Maria Werkheiser (b. 3/2/1835).
        784. Julianna Werkheiser (b. 6/2/1837).
        785. Elizabeth Werkheiser (b. 3/14/1840).
        786. John Henry Werkheiser (b. 6/30/1841) married Elizabeth Groner.
        787. Freeman Werkheiser (5/12/1843-8/5/1887) buried in Rocks Cemetery, Neola, Pennsylvania. Freeman was a Civil War veteran.
        788. Josiah Werkheiser (b. 12/10/1846).
        789. Ameliana Werkheiser (6/16/1848-10/31/1864).
