        24. Elizabeth Werkheiser (5/25/1791-8/4/1869) married Martin Seiple (8/22/1788-1/30/1864). They had three children:

        24111. Floyd Cornelius Flory (b. 10/22/1882) was a high school teacher and principal in the Patterson, New Jersey, area.
        24112. Dr. Clyde Reuben Flory (2/14/1892-8/18/1963) married Miriam Wagner Hummel (1894-10/7/1980). They had two children:

        241122. Lucille Flory married Daniel Rierauer Diemer from Bismarck, North Dakota.

        Dr. Flory was born in Martins Creek, but he and his siblings were raised on a 130 acre farm located on the west side of the highway between the old Breidingers store and the Upper Edelman School. When his father died, Dr. Flory, (even though he resided in Sellersville, Pennsylvania) took the farm over and oversaw its operations until he passed away.

        Dr. Flory was a physician for more than 35 years and was the former chief of surgery at Grand View Hospital, in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. He was named to the honoary staff of Grand View Hospital. He also was a surgical staff memeber of North Penn, Lansdale and Quakertown hospitals.

        Dr. Flory was a Navy Captain in World War II. He also served in World War I. In World War I he was a navigator for a submarine chaser and also was aboard the U.S.S. Powhatan. In 1943, he was promoted to Commander in the U.S. Navy. He distinguished himself while with the Atlantic Fleet. He has been in ports from Iceland to Dakar. He was a leader of a 32-piece band, the largest volunteer band in the Navy and also completed a 25,000-mile cruise in search of enemy raiders. During his World War II service he invented a special traction bar which cut the amount of equipment needed to reduce fractures. It probably was through his special traction bar to the Navy and his finding a new technique for curing syphillis, that the surgeon made his quick advancement, wquivalent to that of lieutenant-colonel in the army. In the early part of the African campaign he had a part in the privations of battle while at sea off the African coast. During that campaign, he had charge of the cruiser-destroyer division of surgery. He was a Captain in the Naval Reserve.

        Dr. Flory was a graduate of Lehigh University, class of 1920. In 1961, he was awarded its Distinguished Service Award in behalf of his work for the university.

        He was vice president general of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution, and was considered an expert on the role of the Pennsylvania Germans in the Revolutionary War. He was a trustee of the Norristown State Hospital.

        Dr. Flory attended public schools in Northampton County and was a graduate of East Stroudsburg State Teacher College, class of 1913. He received his degree in medicine from the University of Michigan in 1926. He was an instructor in the biology department at Lehigh University and was in charge of the department of bacteriology from 1920-21 and an assitant in the department of anatomy there from 1923-25.

        Dr. Flory practiced in Sellersville since 1927. He was president of the Bucks County Medical Society in 1938, and was a member of the Lehigh Valley Medical Society. In 1948, he was chairman of the Centennial Committee fo the Bucks County Medical Society. He was the author of the book "History of Bucks County Medical Society", and many medical articles.

        He was listed in Who's Who in Pennsylvania in 1939, Who's Who in the East in 1942, and Who' Who in Medicine in 1945. He was a member of and past commander of the American Legion Post in Sellersville and a member of the Sellersville VFW. He was a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons.

        Dr. Flory was a former member of the Sellersville-Perkasie Board of Education and a past president of the Kiwanis Club in Sellersville. He was a member of Whitfield Lodge, F&AM, Nazareth; Royal Arch Chapter 173, Easton; Hugh DePayens Commandery, Knights of Templar, Easton; Rajah Temple, Reading; Pennsylvania German Society, and Pennsylvania Folklore Society.

        243. Jacob David Seipel (11/16/1829-4/26/1931) married Margette Bassett (5/18/1836-1/30/1914) on April 29, 1897. They had two children:
        2431. Jacob McClellan Seipel (6/27/1862-5/25/1924) marrried Anna Shover (6/9/1866-4/25/1896) on November 25, 1883. They had one son:

        2432. Anna A. Seipel (8/5/1874-4/26/1931) married Walter Ashton (5/6/1874-8/28/1920) on April 29, 1897. They had one son:
        24321. H. Scott Ashton married Verna Jean Leidy on July 9, 1940.

        The following Eva Seipel may have been a sister to Martin Seipel (b. 1788). Johannes Wagner (12/25/1760-4/24/1827) was a Captain in the North Company, of the Pennsylvania Military. Johannes married Eva Seipel (3/24/1780-9/14/1840). The line of descent of Johannes Wagner in the S.A.R. book contains Dr. Clyde Flory's wife.
