REUBEN WERKHEISER and Eastburn Werkheiser moved from Monroe County in Pennsylvania to Potterville, Pennsylvania. REUBEN WERKHEISER bought a gristmill and Eastburn Werkheiser purchased a farm. CHARLES WERKHEISER was the town treasurer for Potterville, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, in the early 1900's. He was also known far and wide for his buckwheat flour and feed at the gristmill. When Eastburn retired in 1908, CHARLES WERKHEISER took over the mill on his own. As the years went by CHARLES WERKHEISER became farther in debt, for he didn't have the heart to collect the money people owed him. CHARLES WERKHEISER eventually lost the grist mill. He then went on to be a watchman in Nichols, New York. CHARLES WERKHEISER died of bleeding ulcers. CHARLES WERKHEISER is buried in the DARLING cemetery in Orwell, Pennsylvania.
