Bilingualism may prevent certain physical issues. Some research seems to indicate that bilingual brains age at a slower pace than other brains. This fact postpones and reduces the impact of certain degenerative diseases.
Furthermore, some research indicates that bilinguals are less distracted by unnecessary information. Perhaps this is related to the fact that bilinguals are able to cope with two languages simultaneously.
This benefit may promote a positive effect on those who would be diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).
