About Your Hostess
I make my home in a small village in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York State. Tupper Lake is located just minutes from Lake Placid, home of the 1980 Winter Olympics, and we are surrounded by some of the best scenery you could imagine! Clear mountain lakes, abundant wildlife, and mountains free to explore. It is a tourist's dreamland. To see pictures of the Adirondack region, click on the "Next" button below.
Living in this area, however beautiful, is not always the easiest life. There are not many jobs to keep our young people in the area, so they must leave to make their way in the world. From Memorial Day until Labor Day the area is filled with summer residents and visitors, and the local flavor is lost during that time.
I first found the wonders of the internet about four years ago, and have been addicted since then. I found a home in this Nashville Neighborhood and, with the help of a few Community Leaders and friends on the "net" learned how to design and build web pages. It's been an adventure. In early 1998 I became a Nashville Community Leader, hoping that I could help other homesteaders as I had been helped. It was a great experience!
In recent months, since Yahoo!GeoCities made the decision to cut the Community Leaders loose, a few of us have tried to keep things going for the homesteaders. We still maintain our Nashville Schoolhouse offering free classes in HTML and Web Page Building. In addition, we keep our Nashville Community pages updated. Stop in and check them out! You'd be surprised at the resources available here in the Nashville Neighborhood.
If you've had a chance to cruise through my pages, you will note that I have become addicted to creating graphics and background sets. It's a lot of fun, and very rewarding to know that all of the graphics on this site were created by me!
