Hello returning readers & welcome to any new readers who have stumbled upon Cortneys Corner. I hope you all are having a wonderful summer! I know I am! I have finally graduated high school! I had a GREAT time at the Elvis Entertainers Network Convention in Hickory Hills/Chicago, Illinois on June 8th & 9th!!! I FINALLY got to meet the WONDERFUL ETA, John Loos, that I'm going to tell you about this month! So read on, and ENJOY!!

A while ago, I joined a yahoo group online, about Elvis Tribute Artists. In this group there are fans/friends/family members of different ETA's and even some ETA's themselves. This is where I came into contact with Orin Loos *John Loos's father*, Shelly Loos *John's sister* and occasionaly John himself. I also met someone else through this group...a guy by the name of Steve. He & his wife are big fans/friends of Johns. I heard so many good things about John and what a great ETA he was. There were debates on if John was good or not. I knew Id have to see for myself and make my own opinion.

Well when I heard John was going to be at the EEN Convention, I was very excited! I'd finally get to meet the guy I had heard so much about! The time came and we found ourselves at the picnic at Nance Fox's house. When we walked through the gate, Orin *Johns dad* came over to talk to us, and John wasn't too far behind. I had heard that John was shy, but I sure didnt get that impression! John was friendly and he and his dad "hung out" with us at the picnic. Each guy was allowed to sing 2 songs at the picnic. John picked Angel, and one other. I told him if he wanted to be nice, he'd sing The Next Step Is Love for me. So, John being the nice guy he is, changed his song! =) When he got on stage/the deck, he sang Angel, just like an Angel! =) Then it came time for The Next Step Is Love. He said "Cortney wanted to hear this, so if it sounds bad, blame it on her!" But It sounded GREAT!! =) After the picnic, My friend Melissa, my mom and I went back to the hotel and talked with John and his dad for a while. We talked about the ETA business and how John got started.

The next morning, Mom, Melissa and I went to breakfast with Orin at IHOP. John was at the hotel getting ready for the show. The first show at the Sabre Room started at 2:00 pm. We said hello to all the guys in the line of ETA's and got hugs from John, and a few others. Melissa and I offered to sit at Johns merchandise table that way he and his dad didnt have to be stuck there. So we sat there through the afternoon show and again at the evening show. John was scheduled to sing during the evening show. We got to talk with him a lot on saturday and we all had a good time.

At the mention of "Our next entertainer is from Cheyenne, WY" Screams were ringing through the room. Melissa and I screamed as loud as we possibly could! Ronnie Craig *Host* said "I didn't even say his name yet! He mustve brought the tour bus!" John came to the stage in the 68 Comeback Black Leather outfit. He did the medley of All Shook Up / I dont remember / I don't remember lol I was too busy screaming, clapping, dancing and taking pictures! After that he did Are You Lonesome Tonight. During this song women rushed to the stage with flowers. I of course was right along with them =) I told him I was going to embarrass him but decided not to. lol. After all the flowers and the song was over, he finished his performance with It Hurts Me. This too was great!!! When John was done the crowd went wild. During the intermission people came over and bought CD's and pictures and he signed them for everyone. A lot of compliments were received and people asking when they can see him again. John was a big hit at the EEN Convention! =)

Many of you from Canada may have seen John before, as he does shows there in the area! John is a FANTASTIC ETA, and he has a great personality. He's a very cool person to be around. He knew how to make us laugh and smile too! We had such a great time getting to know John and his dad. It was sad to see the weekend end so soon. We will get to see John again in Memphis!
