PERFORMANCES:

  • Performed nationally and internationally since 1948 as a solo artist, group leader and sideman in clubs, festivals, concerts, schools, etc.

  • Appeared with internationally renowned jazz artist Lester Young, Ira Sullivan, Johnny Griffin, Coleman Hawkins, Gene Ammonds, Sonny Stitts, Eddie Harris, Sonny Rollins, Don Byas, Milt Jackson, Benny Carter, Frank Foster, Red Holloway, Frank Foster, Teddy Edwards, Leo Parker, Eric Kloss, Barrett Deams, Rosco Mitchell, Art Porter, Rufus Reed, Jack Dejohnette, and many others.

  • National and international tours includes: Upstate New York and the South with Coleman Hawkins, also with blues singer Jimmy Reedin 1960's.

  • Toured the Midwest with Gene Ammons and most of the Jazz clubs in Tokyo and Yokahama in 1954-55.

  • Played The Beehive Club in Chicago with Art Former in 1957, and also with the house band with Johnny Griffin in that same year.

  • Played the Sutherland Jazz Club in Chicago with Sonny Rollins and Freddy Hubbard in 1958; South America with a trio in 1970's; Virgin Islands as a solo artists in 1962; and Israel's Red Sea Jazz Festival with Eddie Harris.

  • Made the sound-track for a documentary movie in Paris, and a weeks club date in Sweden with Eddie Harris in 1969; toured with an 'All Star' band to the Netherlands in 1992; Israel's Red Sea Jazz Festival with all-star band in 1993; Elkhart Jazz Festival 1994-95; Bremen Germany with Rita Warford.

  • Toured England, Holland, and Belgium with Art Porter in 1994; played Concerts in Belgium, Austria, and Italy with Roscoe Mitchell in 1995; Canada as a soloist in 1996; Berlin and Hamburg with Kahil El Zebar in 1995; Israel's Red Sea Jazz Festival with my own group (The Jodie Christian Sextet) in 1997, with a tour of Germany with Claude Williams in 1998. Blues Festival in Bologna, Italy 2001.
