PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Dick Tarnstrom and Tom Kostopoulos each scored on the power
play to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins past the Philadelphia Flyers, 2-1, on
Monday. Tarnstrom netted his team-leading seventh man-advantage tally in the
first period and Kostopoulos established a 2-0 cushion midway through the
second. Jean-Sebastien Aubin turned aside 33 shots to pick up the win for
Pittsburgh, which has won two of its last three road games after going winless
in its previous 11 contests away from home. Robert Esche surrendered two goals
on 21 shots in defeat, falling to 0-3-1 since January 3. Mike Comrie had the
lone goal for Philadelphia, which has gone five straight without a victory for
the second time since December 10.
