Philadelphia Flyers 4, Toronto Maple Leafs 1
==================================
PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Keith Primeau, Patrick Sharp and Tony Amonte each scored
in the first period as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Toronto Maple
Leafs, 4-1, on Friday. Primeau, playing in his first game since January 2,
opened the scoring 3:25 into the contest. Sharp took a pass from Todd Fedoruk
and beat goaltender Ed Belfour at the 6:01 mark for his first career NHL goal
and Amonte established a 3-0 cushion midway through the stanza. John LeClair
added a goal and Robert Esche, who halted a personal four-game winless skid,
stopped 21 shots for Philadelphia, which snapped a season-high six-game
winless streak. Belfour, who was pulled after Amonte scored, made nine saves
in the loss. Joe Nieuwendyk recorded his first power-play goal since December
4 for Toronto, which has lost three of its last four.
