PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Robert Esche registered his third shutout of the season for
the Philadelphia Flyers in a 3-0 victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday.
Esche turned aside 17 shots over the second and third periods en route to the
win, raising his record to 21-8-6 with a 1.87 goals-against average. Simon
Gagne tallied his third goal in his last four games for Philadelphia, which
held an opponent scoreless for the first time since January 17. Jamie McLennan
allowed two goals on nine first-period shots and ended with 22 saves for New
York, which has lost five straight and 10 of its last 12.
