New York Rangers 3, Philadelphia Flyers 1
==================================

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Stephen Valiquetted stopped 38 shots for the New York
Rangers in a 3-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. Valiquette,
who made his first start since 1999, turned aside each of the 21 shots he faced
over the final 20 minutes en route to the win. Jamomir Jagr had a goal and an
assist and Bobby Holik netted his team-leading 23rd marker for New York,
which halted an eight-game losing skid. Tony Amonte tallied his first goal in
his last seven games for Philadelphia, which has dropped three of its last four
on home ice. Robert Esche, who was pulled early in the middle stanza,
surrendered three goals on 12 shots in defeat.
