PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Justin Williams, Michal Handzus and John LeClair each
scored on the power play as the Philadelphia Flyers cruised past the Florida
Panthers, 5-1, on Wednesday. Williams established a 2-0 lead midway through
the first period, Handzus netted his second man-advantage tally of the season
9:22 into the second and LeClair completed the scoring late in the third for
his second marker in as many games. Handzus added an assist and Joni Pitkanen
recorded a goal and an assist for Philadelphia, which has converted five of
its last 14 power-play opportunities. Robert Esche, who played in consecutive
games for the first time this season, stopped 22 shots to pick up the win.
Roberto Luongo suffered the loss after giving up two goals on just five shots
with nine minutes gone in the first period for Florida. Viktor Kozlov had an
unassisted goal for the Panthers, who have lost five of their last seven games.
