NEW YORK, NY -- Marcus Ragnarsson scored with five seconds gone in overtime to
lift the Philadelphia Flyers over the New York Rangers, 2-1, on Saturday.
Ragnarsson took a feed from Tony Amonte and beat goaltender Mike Dunham for
his first game-winning goal since 2001. Amonte tallied a power-play goal less
than a minute into the third period to even the score at 1-1 for Philadelphia,
which improved to 5-1-0 since October 27, outscoring its opponents by a
combined margin of 25-8. Jeff Hackett, who faced just four shots in both the
second and third periods, made 21 saves to pick up his first victory in his
last four starts. Dunham finished with 30 saves in suffering his second
overtime defeat in as many starts. Vladimir Malakhov had the only goal for New
York, which went 0-for-2 with the man-advantage, dropping to a league-worst
7.8 percent.
