PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Mark Recchi had three points for the second time this
season as the Philadelphia Flyers extended their home unbeaten steak to 10
games with a 3-1 triumph over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. Recchi broke a
scoreless tie on the power play with 5:39 remaining in the second period,
helped Tony Amonte re-establish a one-goal lead five minutes later and capped
his performance on a man-advantage tally with under 40 seconds left in the
stanza. Amonte chipped in with an assist and Jeremy Roenick registered two
assists for Philadelphia, which has a power-play percentage of 30.2 (13-for-43)
on home ice. Robert Esche stopped 22 shots to pick up his sixth victory in as
many starts. Manny Fernandez, who turned aside all 16 shots he faced in the
first period, surrendered three goals on 41 shots in defeat, raising his
goals-against average to 4.14 over his last three starts. Alexandre Daigle netted his
second goal in as many games for Minnesota, which fell to 4-5-1-0 on the road.
