ST. LOUIS, MO -- Mark Recchi and Jeremy Roenick each recorded three points for
the Philadelphia Flyers in a decivise 7-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on
Tuesday. Recchi, who had his first multi-point game since December 3,
registered a goal and an assist in the second period and gave his team a 5-1
cushion at the 5:43 mark of the third. Roenick, who helped set up Recchi in the
middle stanza, had his first two-goal performance of the season with a pair of
strikes in the final period. Tony Amonte added a goal and an assist and Robert
Esche turned aside 28 shots to pick up the win for Philadelphia, which
scored five times with the man-advantage and won for just the second time in
its last 11 games. Keith Tkachuk extended his point-scoring streak to 11 games
with a goal and an assist for St. Louis, which allowed a season-high seven
goals. Brent Johnson, who was pulled midway through the second period, gave up
three goals on 13 shots to suffer his first loss in four home starts this
season.
