The stunning Millennium Stadium in Cardiff is one of the world's most
spectacular sporting arenas.

Completed for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, it has a 72,500 capacity and boasts a retractable roof.

It was built as a replacement for the old Cardiff Arms Park at a cost of £130 million.

The shape of the seating bowl was the primary design factor. Computer-aided design helped create a high standard of viewing and comfort for each seat.

The first game at the stadium was against the then World Cup holders South Africa in June 1999, when the ground was not yet completed and the capacity was just 27,000. Wales won for the first time against South Africa, 29-19.
