A charming cluster of "Golden Celebration" roses in our garden. June 2000 |

Ever since I received David Austin's Roses 2000 catalog in the mail it has been my desire to own Golden Celebration. That seems strange for someone who doesn't really like yellow roses, but there's something luxuriantly wonderful about Austin's roses, yellow or not! English roses are marvelous, and Golden Celebration is no exception. The ample blossoms are cup-shaped and filled with a powerful fruity fragrance. At times there is an essence of strawberry. The shrub is very reliable and shapely with pleasing growth. The foliage is dark green. Golden Celebration is quickly becoming one of the most popular English roses. I can see why! It is planted near Circus, New Day, and Gene Boerner. |
