Heirloom is a dainty rose-- not what you'd expect from a hybrid tea. It reminds me of Angel Face, a floribunda, in its habit and coloring. This rose was situated in a circular garden, mixed in with lilies, phlox, English roses, and Japanese iris. Too demure to compete with these taller flowers, I placed it at the front edge of another flower bed. Here it can take in every drop of morning sunshine and the afternoon rays too. It should flourish in its new location. The roses are lovely on this rose-- old-fashioned in character and reminiscent of English roses except in color. The rosy lilac hue of each blossom is refreshing in the garden, and the fragrance is so sweet! |
