Class:  Floribunda

Color:  Deep Magenta-Plum

Scent:  Citrus

Size:  3 to 4 feet

Zone:  Hardy to zone 6
or -12 F

We feel we're taking a chance on Intrigue with a zone rating of only 6, but my mom loves the color (and so do I!), so we're going to take the plunge.  It will take the place of a very unproductive Mr. Lincoln on the protected east corner of my backyard garden.
Intrigue boasts perfect flowers of a deep magenta-plum color (hard to describe!).  The roses are borne on a disease-resistant plant that grows to four feet.  The shrub is bushy and attractive with medium sized, semi-glossy dark green leaves.  The fragrance is lemony.  An overall rating of 6.8 has been given by the ARS.  Keep this rose in the sun, and bury the bud union 5 to 6 inches to protect it from winter freezing and thawing.
