John Cabot

A full blown blossom in our garden.
June 2000

John Cabot is a welcome addition to our landscape.  I've planted it at the corner of our chain link fence.  I'm hoping its vigorous growth and abundant summer bloom will improve the not-too-pretty appearance of our fence.
Magenta blossoms are displayed against bright green foliage that is nearly disease-proof.  "Help Me Find" (
www.helpmefind.com) notes that in a September 1998 test of the disease susceptibility of their roses, the Montreal Botanical Garden rated John Cabot as having a 0% to 5% infection rate
John Cabot blooms heavily in June and July with good repeat throughout the summer and another good flush in Spetember.   Makes an excellent shrub or climber.
