One whiff of Oklahoma's intoxicating perfume and I'm transported back in time to my grandmother's backyard where three rose bushes were planted beneath her kitchen window.  One of them was a dark red hybrid tea, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was Oklahoma.  The scent is identical to that of my grandmother's rose.
Oklahoma is such a beauty!  The roses are sumptuous (a generous 5 inches in diameter) and held aloft on strong stems clothed in deep green foliage.  Right now Oklahoma is planted next to Heritage in Elizabeth's garden, and the deep red-pale pink contrast creates a lovely scene.
Awarded the Japanese Gold Medal in 1963.  No wonder!  Oklahoma is a real winner in the garden landsape and certainly a classic rose!
