First of all, I noticed that David Austin does not offer "The Squire" in his Roses 2000 catalog.  It makes me wonder if there is something wrong with this rose.  I do know that it is quite prone to powdery mildew, but other than that, all that I've read about it is positive.  The roses are a deep, lovely red, and shaped as a petal filled cup.  The fragrance is powerfully old rose.  The blossoms last long in the vase which is not a trait of the other English roses I own.  Mature height and width listed would suggest a nicely rounded shrub.
Powdery mildew does raise its ugly head here, but I have the most trouble with it where roses are up against a building.  The Squire has been planted in open air with sun on all sides.  I'm hoping for a good show and exquisite fragrance this summer.
