AJ led Chrissy back to his Expedition and drove her back to the mall to get her car. He was parked behind her car and they both just sat there, not saying anything. Chrissy made a move to get out of the car but AJ grabbed her arm.
“Hey, before you go,” he said. Chrissy turned to look at him. “Ya wanna do something tonight?” Chrissy smiled.
“Yeah, sure, that sounds good,” she said. AJ nodded and smiled.
“Great, I’ll pick you up at, I don’t know, 8 o’clock sound okay?”
“Fine!” Chrissy said as she was about to close the door, but then quickly swung it back open again. “Alex, is this a date?” AJ smiled at her.
“Yeah,”
he said. Chrissy smiled and closed the door. AJ waited for
her to get in her car and start it up. She could feel his eyes on
her body and that made her nervous, but she quickly put the key in the
door and got inside. She started her car up and watched AJ drive
away. Chrissy sat in her seat and smiled, and then proceeded to start
her car and leave the parking lot.
Later that night, Chrissy was getting ready for her date when the phone rang. She scurried to answer it.
“Hello?”
“Hey Chris, it’s Josh, what’s up?” Chrissy smiled and sat on her bed.
“I have a date!”
“Oh yeah? With who?”
“AJ,” she laughed. Josh was silent on the other end. “Dude, hello?”
“Sorry. Wait, I thought you two weren’t speaking?”
“We worked it out. It’s okay now!” Chrissy was smiling and glanced at the clock, it was almost eight. “Hey Josh, I gotta get goin’. AJ's gonna be here any second,” she said. There was silence on the other end of the phone again. “Josh?”
“Oh, uhh, yeah…okay. Have a good time. I’ll see you at work. Bye Chris,” Josh said hastily. Chrissy said “Bye”, she hadn’t noticed Josh’s tone. Chrissy was putting the finishing touches on her makeup when she heard a knock at the door, she bolted to it and opened it quickly. She saw AJ standing there in a pair of baggy black jeans, a white undershirt and a tan jacket. Chrissy stifled a girlie giggle.
“Hey,” she said as she motioned for him to come in. AJ stepped in and took a long pause to look at Chrissy. She was wearing a black tank top and some white capri pants. Her hair was in a ponytail and she looked really good. AJ smiled, making Chrissy self-conscious.
“What?” she said as she began looking herself over.
“Nothin’, just looking at you, that’s all,” AJ said. He walked over to Chrissy and wrapped his arms around her waist. “You look beautiful,” he whispered in her ear right before he began kissing her neck. Chills ran all over Chrissy’s body and she knew she could stay there like that all night, but he did ask her on a date.
“Hey there Bucko,” she said laughingly. AJ looked at her with a dazed expression. “Didn’t you say we were going OUT?” Chrissy walked away from AJ and got her purse.
“We could just stay here,” AJ said as walked back up to Chrissy and began nibbling her ear now. Chrissy smiled and pulled away.
“No way Alex, you owe me a date,” she said as she walked to the door. AJ sighed and walked out the door and into the hallway. Chrissy shut the door and locked up. AJ grabbed her hand and they walked hand-in-hand to his car.

AJ and Chrissy sat in the dimly lit diner and talked the night away. It wasn’t the diner that Chrissy worked at, it was a quaint little out of the way place AJ had learned about a few years ago. They talked the entire evening about everything. All of the tension that there could have been that evening was totally erased the moment they both began talking to each other in the car. They had even addressed the issue about AJ and leaving Chrissy’s house the morning after their first sex encounter. As they looked back on it now, they could kind of laugh at it even though it was still a very sore subject with the both of them. Through their talking they realized a lot of things they didn’t know about each other. Each surprise making the other person just seem all that much better to each other.
“So, Alex, how many characters have you played at Disney World anyway?” AJ rolled his eyes and began counting.
“Uhh, I think 5. I’ve been Chip, I’ve been Dale. I’ve been Donald Duck and something else. I don’t know. I think I’ve chosen to block it from my memory,” he said with a laugh.
“Ya know, since I’ve lived here, I’ve never been to Disney World,” Chrissy sighed. AJ looked at her in shock.
“You’ve never been to the happiest place on earth? You’ve lived her for a while Chris, what’s wrong with you?” Chrissy smirked.
“Dude, you could go anytime you want because you’re an employee. Ever see the prices to get into just ONE park?” AJ nodded his head.
“Yeah, that’s true. But, damn woman, you’ve never been? Well, we’re gonna have to remedy that someday soon!” Chrissy’s eyes lit up.
“Really?”
“Hell yeah! Far be it from me to deny you the Magic Kingdom!” Chrissy smiled.
“Okay then! But, I’m holding you to it!” AJ grabbed Chrissy’s hands and laced his long fingers through hers.
“I
promise,” he said as he brought her hands up to his mouth and kissed her
fingers tenderly.
AJ and Chrissy walked
hand-in-hand back to her apartment. She stopped in front of her door
to retrieve her keys from her purse.
“You wanna come in?” she asked looking up at AJ. He nodded and followed her in and closed the door behind him. Chrissy plopped herself on the couch and looked around.
“Sorry about the mess,” she said. AJ walked over and sat down next to her on the couch.
“Why do you always apologize? I don’t give a shit what your house looks like. It looks fine Chris,” he said. They both sat back on the couch in silence for a minute. AJ laced his fingers through hers as they sat quietly looking at each other for a second. Finally, Chrissy broke the silence as she unlaced her fingers and grabbed the remote.
“Wanna
watch some tv?” AJ nodded and Chrissy flipped the channels.
It was about 11 o’clock and there was a late-night episode of Jerry Springer
on. Without even saying anything, both of them began watching the
show about jealous lovers intently. They both sat quietly and enjoyed
each others company and the show they were watching. Chrissy laid
down on the couch and put her head in AJ’s lap. He kicked off his
shoes and took his jacket off. He pulled her hair out of the rubberband
and began playing with her soft curls. They sat like this for the
rest of the show, neither of them saying a word unless it was directed
at the television. The show ended and it was now midnight.
Chrissy turned off the television and once again there was silence.
Chrissy sat up on the couch and AJ grabbed his jacket. They both
got up off the couch and began walking towards the door. They both
stood quietly staring at each other.

cause the way I feel I might lose control and let you stay…”

“I’d better get goin’,” AJ said. Chrissy nodded and opened the door for him. He was halfway out the door when he stopped for a second and looked back at Chrissy. She smiled at him.
“Bye Alex,” she said. He nodded and began to walk down the hall. Chrissy closed the door and was beginning to turn off lights in the apartment. Her heart and head were kicking her. She wanted AJ to stay the night, but was it the right decision. Chrissy shrugged it off and began to lock her door when she heard a knock on the other side. She looked through her peephole and smiled. She opened the door. AJ stood in the doorframe and grabbed Chrissy around her waist and pulled her in for a long, sensuous kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into her apartment all the way. Suddenly, they both broke away from the kiss. AJ stared at her.
“What?” Chrissy asked. Her heart was racing and she was hoping to Heaven he wasn’t think about Maria.
“Can I stay the night?” he asked. Chrissy smiled and nodded “Yes”.
AJ pulled her in again and kissed her. She took his jacket off and
threw it on the couch. While still kissing, Chrissy led them both
to her bedroom. The night was far from over for them.
