Campus Guidelines

 

CAMPUS POLICE - The Rockhurst University Campus Police patrol the campus and surrounding neighborhood. Officers are on duty 24 hours a day and can provide escort and shuttle services about campus. Red phones are available in all campus buildings that connect individuals to dispatch, or by the blue lights in the parking lots.

 

DAMAGES - You are responsible for restitution of all damages and loss of University property and furnishings. Where possible, actual repair/replacement costs plus labor will be quoted. Upon checkout, staff will walk through areas to note conditions.

 

DISCLAIMER - Rockhurst University, nor Girl Scouts of Mid-Continent Council, nor Girl Scout Troop 2099 or 1262 are responsible for damage to personal property of participants or for valuables left in residence hall rooms, lounges, bathrooms, or any common areas.

 

EMERGENCY MESSAGES/PHONE MESSAGES - One message board will be located near the First Aid Station. If someone at home needs to reach you in an emergency, they may call Conference Services office between 8AM and 4PM, Monday through Friday at 816-501-4126, OR after 4 PM may contact Campus Police at 816-501-4010. The caller needs to give the name of the person to be reached, the conference name they are with (Just for Seniors Getaway - Senior Girl Scout Conference), and a return name and phone number.

 

FIRE CODE - Entrances, exits, and fire lanes must not be blocked at any time. You must adhere to room capacities and set up requirements. The use of open flame such as candles is not permitted on campus.  No more than two people may occupy each dorm room.

 

FRONT DESK - The desk is open every evening from approximately 6-10 PM in the residence halls. The telephone number to McGee Hall's front desk is 816-501-3100. The telephone number to Corcoran Hall's front desk is 816-501-1115.

 

INJURY AND ILLNESS - The University does not operate health care facilities. All injury/accidents should be reported to our First Aid staff located in McGee or Corcoran Halls. Situations requiring emergency attention or hospitalization will be via ambulance to the closest area hospital.

 

KEYS/CARDS - Each conference attendee will be issued a building access card and a room key. There is a $20 fee charged for a lost key or card.

 

MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS - Occasionally problems with plumbing or a burnt out light bulb or something of this nature may occur in an individual room. If this happens, notify one of the Conference Hostesses.

 

PARKING - Parking for conference participants is allowed in all the campus lots for group participants. It is recommended that participants park near their assigned residence hall. Trailer hook-up facilities for campers are not provided.

 

PETS - Pets are not allowed in the residence halls or in campus buildings. Seeing eye and hearing dogs are allowed.

 

RESIDENCE HALLS - All units have twin beds. Traditional restroom facilities are housed in the center of each hall. Pay phones and pop machines are located in the Residence Hall areas. Coin operated laundry facilities are also available.

 

SECURITY - To maintain security, each residence hall is equipped with a security lock, which operates on a card access system. This same card system allows them onto the elevator in McGee Hall or the individual floors in the other buildings. Residents are asked not to prop open exterior doors and should always keep their room doors locked.

 

SMOKING - Smoking is not permitted in any campus building.

 

TELEPHONES - Telephones are not provided in residence hall rooms.
