Choose from the following list the funshops you would like to participate. Every effort will be made to accommodate your first choices. However, if there are not enough participants to meet minimum requirements or if more participants sign up than the class can handle, your next choice will be considered. Classes will be filled on a first-received first-reserved basis.

Funshop Descriptions

All Tied Up in Knots - Have you ever had a hard time remembering how to tie a useful knot when you needed it? Learn the best all-purpose knots to cover every rope-tying situation! Don't ever forget how to tie that knot again!

Attention! - Is serving your country something you feel you want to do? Maybe a career in the military is for you. This funshop will make you aware of the different branches of the military. We will have experts to answer all of your questions. Let’s not forget the impact your Girl Scout Gold Award can have on your experience!

Be 1 with Yourself - Learn how to relax with a practical study of yoga. You can use the techniques to relieve your tensions. If you believe you need to learn something that will help you blow off some steam after a hard day, then this is the class for you! It is also great for exercise. Breath in, breath out!

Be like Bobbi Brown - Ever consider being a makeup artist when you grow up? In this funshop you will learn the tricks of the trade from a professional makeup artist who is willing to answer any question.

Bend and Snap - Ever wonder if you are a Dylan Zoolander or a Cindy Crawford as a model on the runway? Then come and learn new techniques and gain self-confidence. Just keep smiling-you never know when you will be the one on stage.

Building Memories through Scrapbooking - With all those terrific pictures you have taken, coupled with the treasures and other keepsakes, how will you display them in a most attractive manner? Enjoy this funshop as you make a special collapsible scrapbook. Bring 12 pictures.

Bustin' Out - Being out in the real world for the first time can be scary. Money is scarce. Learn how to cook super cheap! So when the kids ask around college, you can say, "Been there, done that!" Now, you're the expert!

Campout Fun Foods - Learn how to make yummy snacks for all of your outdoor adventures. You would never realize the millions of tasty things that can be made. Make your campout feel like you are not out in the woods but in a fun kitchen.

Campus Girl Scouts - Did you just graduate? Wondering where Girl Scouts will take you next? Learn about the great friends, great times, great connections and more that you can experience through Campus Girl Scouts.

Chiming in the Wind - Ever wonder how those melodious sounds are made? Enjoy this peaceful funshop as you learn how to make a beautiful sounding wind chime.

Digging Deep - Do you help your friends with their problems? Learn about the exciting field of psychology and the education and training required. Leave it up to you to find the story behind the story. How does that make you feel?

Fashion Alert - Have you ever wanted to design your own clothes? This class will teach you how it all begins - from the sketch, to the fabric choices, to techniques for turning your dream into reality. This funshop will stir in you the imaginative ideas for that fab fashion.

Find the Artist within Yourself - Is your favorite pastime doodling and drawing pictures to your hearts delight? Well this funshop is for you. Come and learn how to enhance your pictures and turn them into first class art.

Flower Art - Learn how to create your own centerpieces in this awesome class. You can even make and take your own that same day! Learn what it takes to pick out flowers and arrange them beautifully. A very fragrant class!

Flying 1^st Class - Learn from a flight attendant the skills it takes to travel for a living. See the world, meet people, and find a wonderfully fun career.

Getting in the Groove - Ever wonder if you have the stuff to twirl and whirl like those girls on stage? Come and learn new dances and steps! Explore your passions and love of dance in this fun class!

Giving Yourself the Perfect Pedicure - Have you always envisioned your toes floating amongst the bubbles in a spa pedicure? Now is the time to learn how to make this a reality in your life. Experience hands-on the fine tips for making your feet like they have never felt before and look like they belong to a star.

Gold Award Projects Forum - Have all the requirements done for your Gold Award, but need a project? Learn how to pick a project that will be special and meaningful. All that is required is your imagination and dedication. You are the next Gold Awardee!

If I knew you were coming, I’da baked a cake…. - Learn how to make those neat designs on cakes all by yourself. Impress a family member on their next birthday with the skills you will learn from this class.

Jazzercise - This class is good for you and fun too! You'll hear the coolest music and get to learn cool dance moves while getting your body in shape!

Krav Maga - Do you find yourself after dark and in places where you sometimes don’t feel safe? This funshop is perfect for you! You will learn some great new moves that will help you feel safe no matter where you are. HI-YAH!

Matrixx System "Colors" - The Matrixx System, also known as True Colors, is a fun filled 2-hour funshop designed to help you understand yourself and to recognize, accept and value the differences in others. It builds self-esteem, promotes teamwork, improves conflict resolution skills, and the acceptance of our diversity. Through a simple self-test, you will develop an understanding of your thinking and decision making processes (or colors) and how they differ from other people. Once the various colors are understood, you can then begin to look at ways to work with and appreciate those differences.

More than Clipart - Turn the light onto your creativity by learning the basics of becoming a graphic artist. Let your imagination soar as you emerge yourself into a new career possibility.

Music, Magic, Composition - Learn how to make music from your own home. Did you know that you can create your own CD’s on your computer. Well Terry Brennan can teach you the tricks of the trade.

Old is New Again - Do you like that antique look? Do you know what it takes to make something look naturally worn? This hands-on funshop will make you an expert!

Origami - You don't have to admire those folded wonders from afar. Learn basic folds and explore ways to create your own masterpiece with squares of paper.

For Girls Only - Getting the love you deserve! Ladies, life is too short to settle for anything less than what you deserve – the absolute best! Good relationships do not magically fall into place. Smart girls know there are essential keys to making love work. Using Mid-Continent Council’s Positive Power curriculum, we’ll learn the steps to a healthy relationship, definition of domestic violence and developing a safety plan. Don’t miss your chance to empower yourself with the tools necessary to achieve happiness and satisfaction in your relationships.

Ready, OK! - Come and learn what it takes to make it in the real world of cheerleading and much more! Here you can learn some great new moves and dances. So grab a towel and a water bottle and get ready for a class full of cheering your way to the top!

Say Cheese - Bring your camera and photos you have taken. Learn basic skills needed to capture the right image at the right moment and have fun while doing it! You will learn about the tricks to take the beautiful pictures that you want.

Scrub-a-dub-dub - Do you find it relaxing to go home and take a bath with fragrant homemade soap? Learn how to make soap in the convenience of your own kitchen.

Spaaahhh! - Had a long day? Treat yourself to this luxurious funshop all about how to relax. Also take home some recipes for comfy treats. Expand your knowledge on how to make you and your body feel good. Kick back, relax, and watch the bubbles pop.

Sparkles in the Sunlight - Learn about the art of stained glass. Learn about cutting stained glass, arranging the pieces, creating your masterpiece, and about career opportunities.

Sparkles and Bangles - This exciting funshop will teach you how to make your own jewelry - from earrings to necklaces to bracelets. Come and learn a new hobby while having a blast!

Special Treasure Box - Learn how to make your own keepsake boxes from cigar boxes and decorate them yourself! Have you ever needed a special box to hold your special things? This way you will have something that will last forever.

Stage Fright - Have you been in plays or musicals? Jus interested in theatre? Here you will learn some of the techniques and need-to-knows about acting and having fun on and offstage, as well as taming those butterflies. Lights, camera, action!

Street Smart - Learn about taking care of yourself "on the street" This funshop teaches you to be aware of your surroundings, the importance of observation and the latest in street drugs.

The Fast and the Furious - There's more to cars than filling the gas tank and driving down the road. Learn how to change the oil, fix a flat and all around need-to-knows about your keeping a car running.

Thread, Needle, Ouch - Are you an expert with a needle and thread? Just a beginner, you say? Well, this class is for the expert or the needle challenged girl. Learn basic sewing stitches for those last minute fix-up situations.

Toss and Twirl - Ever wondered how to twirl a sparkling baton for an audience? Well this funshop can teach you the tricks of the beautiful art of baton twirling.

Trading Spaces - Have fun while decorating your own room. You will learn how to create space in your room and what fun things can be bought for decoration. These are skills that everyone should learn! Especially you future college kids with that small dorm room to decorate!

Weave, Weave, Weave - Learn the art of basket weaving as you weave a special basket. You can use this special JFS treat in your room or at the dorm to hold those special keepsakes.

"Who Let the Dogs Out?" - Have you ever wanted to learn how veterinarians take care of animals and what education and training this profession requires? Learn what medicines can cure different diseases and what are common diseases and illness to look for in animals.

Write Right - Let your imagination soar as you learn how to write a bestseller. Learn what a bestseller contains, what the market is looking for, and the process for getting it published. Enjoy the expertise of this professional writer is will guide you on your journey.
