Dan decorated my apartment with balloons.  His poor fingers were raw from tying them.
Danny  proposed on my Birthday, March 7, 2002.  It was very romantic and absolutely perfect.
We both agreed we need one of these in our home someday.
Guess What...............
We're Getting Married!!!!!!!
New Year's Eve Danny and I opened fortune cookies every half hour before midnight.  We still have all of our fortunes.  So before our every activity Danny gave me a fortune cookie to open.
First stop was the Zoo.  It wasn't very crowded which was quite romantic.  It felt like we had our own little wildlife kingdom.
Nice Kitty.  She kept rubbing against the glass as if she wanted you to pet her.
Next stop was the Museum.  By then we were both feeling exhausted, but managed to make it through long enough to kiss in the mummy's tomb.  I hope we aren't cursed or anything.
Famished from our day we had dinner at the Olive Garden, which was where we had our very first date.  Danny asked our waitress to come over and sing "Happy Birthday," but she mistakenly went to the table behind us.  It was quite comedic when the couple there informed her it wasn't their birthday.  I was relieved and thought I was off the hook.  However, ten minutes later the clapping and singing commenced as they headed for our table.  It was really funny.
After dinner we drove to South Park, a place where we have frequented.  When we got out of the car Danny handed me a folder.  Inside was a deed for a star named after me Sherrie "Juno" Simmons (his nickname for me). With his compass in hand we were able to locate it right off of the Pisces constellation (which he planned).  As we were gazing up at "my" star he told me to close my eyes and make a wish.  Then he handed me another fortune cookie.  When I opened it the message said, "Will you marry me?"  I was stunned.  I think my initial reaction truly was "Huh?"  Then Dan read me the most touching poem about how much he loves me and finally got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him.  I was on the brink of tears and barely got out "Yes."  He said he had one final surprise.  When we returned to the car he put in a CD he made.  On it was the song, "I wanna grow old with you," from the "Wedding Singer."  What made it even more special was Danny actually sang it on the recording.
