Makeup artist Christine Bateman first appeared on the pages of ID magazine as a Taboo regular back in the 80’s . Working at Stephen Jones shop at the time, she soon started making waves as one of London’s fashionable beauties. Sister of Nicola Bowery, Christine proves that talent and beauty run in the family. Her colorful strong makeup looks she created for Taboo the musical will always be remembered and loved. Her makeup for friend Boy George as the Twin and as Leigh Bowery in Taboo are stunning and powerful. On the 2005 fall catwalk for B-Rude, Boy George’s collection, Christine designed all the looks with glittery honey flavored bruises and glam punk styles in brilliant colors. Who knows what this talented outspoken artist has up her sleeve for the future?
